Break Bones Slot Review 2024

Hacksaw Gaming is back and they’re breaking a leg in their latest new release, Break Bones!

Sticks and stones may broke our bones, but words can never hurt us! Break Bones is another of Hacksaw Gaming’s great inventions that fits into their 3×3 Spins model, with lower Volatility and a max win of 3,333x to sink your teeth into.

When we first heard of Break Bones, we had envisioned something similar to that of the Final Destination movies, but apart from the skulls and bone Wilds, it’s not quite as gory as we had hoped for which may just be a good thing if you’re not into that kind of thing.

Hacksaw Gaming has taken a more laid-back approach to Break Bones and we don’t mean that in a bad way. Break Bones isn’t quite as appealing as Undead Fortune or Hand of Anubis for example, but it still has a juicy Free Spins round, Wild and Global Multipliers and Echospins up for grabs. We’ve all learned by now that you should never underestimate a Hacksaw Gaming slot!

As we dive in head first into Break Bones, be sure to wear your safety gear as things could get real ugly real fast!

Break Bones Base Game

Break Bones Base Game and Features

Break Bones is a 3 reel slot with 17 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol types land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other betting options in between the two. Break Bones has a theoretical RTP of 96.22% and a maximum win capacity of 3,333x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Break Bones is the Blue and Green Skull, followed by the Green, Blue and Pink and Orange Skulls. Low-paying symbolds are standard Ace, King, Queen and Jack.

Wild symbols are available in the base game and substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols in the paytable. Also present is a Skeleton Hand symbol which also substitutes for all other symbols except Wilds.

Wild & Global Multipliers

During the base game, the Wild symbol can land in view with an active Multiplier value of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x25, x50 or x100.

When 1 or more Wild Multipliers land at the same time as a winning combination, their Multiplier values will be added together to form a Global Multiplier at the top of the reel set. The Global Multiplier will then multiply all present wins for that particular spin.

EchoSpins

EchoSpins are a particular type of Respins where each spin is a copy of the previous triggering spin.

If a Skeleton Hand symbol lands at the same time as a winning combinaton, it will reveal a number of EchoSpins using its fingers between 1 and 5. The EchoSpins feature can only be awarded by the Skeleton Hand.

During EchoSpins, all Wild Multiplier symbols that are present will be added to the Global Multiplier on every Respin. Once the Respins are complete, the Global Multiplier will be reset.

Break Bones Free Spins

Landing 3 Bones Game Scatters across the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins. This round increases your odds of landing a Skeleton Hand symbol which triggers the EchoSpins feature.

During this round, there is also a higher chance of receiving more EchoSpins than in the base game, up to a total of 5 Respins.

Break Bones: Our Verdict

If you were shown Break Bones with no indication on who made it then you’d still probably guess that is a Hacksaw release.

The art style is as sound as it usually is, but the reel configuration is different from what we’ve experienced previously, and as a result, the potential is a little dumbed down too.

10,000x seems to be the go-to figure for Hacksaw Gaming Slots, but Break Bones sits at a humble, yet attractive, 3,333x. There’s still a market for games that aren’t off the hook, crazy volatile, so in a way its rather nice to see an option that doesn’t come across as extreme, as most slots tend to do these days.

Break Bones welcomes the return of the EchoSpins feature, which was introduced to us in Itero EchoSpins, and on top of this, there are Wild and Global Multipliers to exponentially increase the potential.

Break Bones may only be 3 reels, but it’s still an exciting Hacksaw Release with lots in the way of anticipation, and plenty in the way of excitement.

To summarise, Break Bones may not be as monsterous as we’re used to from Hacksaw Gaming slots, but it holds its own as a capable slot despite its shortcomings in the reel department.
