Hacksaw Gaming are throwing their hat into the ring with their surprising North American Prairie slot, Buffalo Stack’n’Sync!
Buffalo Stack’n’Sync surprised us a little bit, because Hacksaw Gaming are usually quite adept in making a slot with an intriguing theme and visuals, even if they are using something relatively generic as their inspiration.
Hand of Anubis was a classic example of this. Egyptian themes are arguably the most common slot theme out there, but Hacksaw Gaming managed to make it look fresh with their dark take on Anubis, the Ancient Egyptian God of Dead.
Buffalo Stack’n’Sync doesn’t really show the same level of innovation. In fact, it looks pretty standard like Buffalo slots that came before it.
Although we don’t think much about the design choice in this one, we’re still expecting big things when it comes to gameplay. It is Hacksaw Gaming after all.
Let’s explore Buffalo Stack’n’Sync together and hope for a stampede of big wins.
Buffalo Stack’n’Sync is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbol types from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of options in between the two.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Buffalo Stack’n’ Sync is the Buffalo, followed by the Eagle, Wolf, Mountain Lion and Horse. Low paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. There is also a Wild symbol present, which substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols.
Hacksaw Gaming has been pulling out some pretty exciting features recently, and so it comes as no surprise that Buffalo Stack’n’Sync follows suit, with a clever Stack’n’Sync feature and Stampede Reels. More on these below.
Stack’n’Sync (SNS) symbols can appear randomly in any position on the reels. Once an SNS symbol appears, the reel it landed on will be loaded up with a stack of either 15, 30, 45 or 60 symbols of one type.
For every Stack’n’Sync symbol that lands, +1 Respin is awarded, up to 1 Stack’n’Sync symbol per reel. If additional Stack’n’Sync symbols land at any point during the Respin, that reel will then be synced to the already Stacked Reels, copying the chosen symbols from the Stacked Reel(s).
During the base game, when a full reel of Buffalo symbols land, they will automatically activate a Stampede Reel with a multiplier of either x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9, x10, x15, x20, x25x, x50, x75 or x100.
The Stamepede reel Multiplier will be applied to all winning combinations with Buffalo symbols that connect to the Stampede Reel. If more than one Stampede Reel is part of the same winning combination, their Multipliers will automatically be added together before being applied to any wins.
Like Hacksaw Gaming’s more recent titles, Buffalo Stack’n’Sync has 2 Bonus Rounds up for grabs. Landing 3 Scatters in any position on the reels, triggers regular Free Spins, awarding 10 Free Spins. Landing 4 Scatters in any position on the reels, triggers Stampede Free Spins, awarding 10 Free Spins.
Once the Free Spins round is awarded, the odds of landing the Stack’n’Sync (SNS) symbol are increased. During the Free Spins round, all High-paying Animal symbols are more likey to Stack rather than Low-paying symbols, increasing your chances of landing a large stack of Buffalo symbols and awarding even bigger wins.
Once the Stampede Free Spins round is awarded, all High and Low-paying symbols are removed from the reels, leaving only Buffaloes and non-paying Skull symbols in place.
During Stampede Free Spins, each time a Stack (S) symbol lands on a reel, between 5 and 60 Buffalo symbols will be added to that particular reel, replacing non-paying Skull symbols.
For every Stack symbol that lands, +1 Free Spin is awarded. Landing multiple Stack symbols on each of the reels, opens up a window of potential that can deliver some pretty decent wins!
For those outside the UK, you may benefit from a Bonus Buy option.
There are 3 Options available to choose from, these are as follows.
It’s easy to feel a little bit disappointed when you first load up Buffalo Stack’n’Sync, because we’re so used to that sprinkle of creative genius used to season slots like Hand of Anubis, Chaos Crew, Wanted Dead or a Wild and Itero Echospins.
Expectations can be a funny thing. We probably expect stunning visuals from Hacksaw Gaming slots like we expect boundary pushing slots from Nolimit City, and when something rather standard comes along you’re taken aback. As generic as it is, the visuals aren’t exactly bad, and the professionalism of Hacksaw Gamings design and animation team remains firmly present even here.
If you can get past the idea of a slot with no real distinguishable design differences to many before it, then there’s a lot ot enjoy about Buffalo Stack’n’Sync. Like we said before, it is a Hacksaw Gaming slot after all, and when Hacksaw Gaming brings a slot to market you can expect high volatility, big win potential and diverse gameplay with plentiful features.
The new Stack’n’Sync feature really does well to build excitement if you can keep the momentum going, and the Free Spins and Stampede Spins round gives players that classic luxury of choice that bonus buy players know and love from Hacksaw Gaming slots.
If you’re in the UK, then you just have to hope for the Stampede Spin bonus for even more potential, but we’re unsure of the natural frequency of such a bonus landing. Hacksaw Gaming slots do seem like prime bonus buy games, but there’s definitely more than a few instances of stories from UK players who have defied the odds for huge wins.
In terms of maximum potential, Buffalo Stack’n’Sync is classic Hacksaw with a 10,000x win cap. This feels to us like a perfect figure, and we think players will agree that this sort of potential is worth a few spins.
Overall, Buffalo Stack’n’Sync is Hacksaw classic in disguise. It’s not exactly the Chef’s kiss in terms of design, but beneath the surface is a capable a Hacksaw slot like any other.
