Fox Mayhem Slot Review 2024

Freddie the fox is on the prowl and he’s got his eyes set on one particular piggy, in Play’n GO’s latest release, Fox Mayhem!

One farmer is getting his livestock ready for the County Fair, but Freddie the cunning fox has other ideas. Help the farmer fatten up his livestock with delicious fruits and vegetables, and once they’re plump enough, Freddie plans to snatch them for himself as a tasty treat.

Mischievous foxes are the highlight of a few provider’s slot games at the moment, and the two most recent that come to mind are Feasting Fox and Greedy Fox, courtesy of Quickspin and Stakelogic.

From time to time, a number of Providers become in sync with their slot themes, and it seems that Foxes are the flavour of the month. The only question is, will Fox Mayhem stand out from the competition? Let’s play on and find out!

Fox Mayhem Base Game

Fox Mayhem Base Game and Features

Fox Mayhem is a 5-reel slot with 20 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Fox Mayhem has a theoretical RTP of 96.20% and a max win cap of 4,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Meat Cleaver, followed by the Carving Set, Frying Pan, Oven Glove, and Wooden Spoon. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. Wilds appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters and Cash symbols.

Cash Symbols

During the base game, up to 5 special Cash symbols in the form of fruit and veg can land randomly across the reels, with a max Cash Prize of 10x your bet. Landing between 3 and 5 Cash symbols during any one spin in the base game will trigger the Prize Collection feature.

Prize Collection

Once the Prize Collection feature has been triggered, you will be awarded 3 Collection Respins, and the reel set will change to where only Cash symbols are present.

During the Prize Collection feature, each time a new Cash symbol lands in view, it will be held in place for the duration of the feature, resetting the number of Collection Respins back to 3.

The Prize Collection feature will end when there are no more Collections Respins left, or when 15 Cash symbols are collected.

Fox Mayhem Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters across the reels during the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10, 12, and 15 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, more Cash symbols will appear on the reels, meaning that your chances of triggering the Prize Collection feature are naturally higher. The collected total Prize amount will be multiplied by either x2, x5, x10, or x20.

Fox Mayhem: Our Verdict

Fox Mayhem lacks the ‘talent’ to grip the attention of players for any extended length of time, and it has neither the features nor the capabilities to make it stand out as a memorable Play’n GO title.

The design of Fox Mayhem is high-quality like you’d expect from a Play’n GO title, but the gameplay itself feels a little dull at times. The Prize collection feature has its moments, but there’s not too much else going on. It’s as sedentary as the fat pig probably is after gorging on a massive meal, so it could have benefited from some extra bells and whistles to make it more appealing.

The Free Spins round has some exciting moments, but it never really feels like it’s going to kick off, though it’s 4,000x potential would suggest otherwise. If it could reach it, we’d swallow our pride and admit we were wrong, but we’re not convinced we are wrong.

Overall, we wish Fox Mayhem was appealing to us as food is to that pig. Some may stop in for a quick spin, but we’d be surprised if Fox Mayhem sticks out in anyone minds.
