Holy Hand Grenade Slot Review 2023
Print Studios are back with their latest instalment, and it promises to be explosive.
Holy Hand Grenade takes us to a seemingly quiet medieval hamlet for Sunday service, but the smouldering craters in the background are a sign of a standard religious ceremony gone awry.
The Holy Hand Grenade itself originates from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which stands as the best of British comedy even today.
The Holy Hand Grenade has made its appearance in various forms of media since the days of Monty Python. The Video Game turned slot Worms featured the comical Holy Hand Grenade, as did the popular Terraria.
Now, it’s Print Studios’ turn to show us what the blessed grenade can do, and to accompany it in its divine explosive majesty comes the SuperSpinners feature. The SuperSpinners feature has made its presence known in previous Print Studios slots, and effectively so. It’s proven to be a rather ‘explosive’ feature, which is fitting considering Holy Hand Grenades’ combustible nature.
Without further ado, let’s get to blowing s*!& up.
Holy Hand Grenade Base Game and Features
Holy Hand Grenade is a 5-reel slot with 26 fixed pay lines in the base game and up to 52 in Free Spins. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€60 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.45% and a max win cap of 20,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Bishop, followed by the Man, Woman, Candles, and Bag. Low-paying symbols fall to Clubs, Hearts, Spades, and Diamonds. There are no Wilds present in Holy Hand Grenade.
In between each reel sits a number of SuperSpinners, of which there are 14 in total.
If a winning combination is formed through an active SuperSpinner with a number on it, the win will be automatically multiplied by the number displayed.
If a winning combination passes through more than one active SuperSpinner, it will first be multiplied by the first SuperSpinner, followed by the next.
Holy Hand Grenade Feature
During both the base game and Free Spins round, whenever a Holy Hand Grenade symbol lands in view, it will activate the Holy Hand Grenade feature.
Once active, a random number of symbol positions around the Holy Hand Grenade will explode, transforming them into the same High or Low-paying symbol from the paytable.
Holy Hand Grenade Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Goat Scatters across the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 7, 9, and 11 Free Spins respectively. During Free Spins, the reel set transforms into 5 rows, 6 reels, and 52 active pay lines.
Whenever a Holy Hand Grenade lands in view, it will automatically trigger the Holy Hand Grenade feature, marking its position with a special Frame for the duration of the round.
If at any point a Holy Hand Grenade comes into contact with a Framed position, it will automatically trigger an additional Holy Hand Grenade feature from the framed position.
If a Holy Hand Grenade lands inside a framed position, it will automatically trigger the Holy Hand Grenade feature with an even bigger explosion.
Each Holy Hand Grenade symbol that lands will award an additional +2 Free Spins.

Holy Hand Grenade: Our Verdict
Holy Hand Grenade is divine intervention if we’ve ever seen it. Perhaps Print Studios were blessed with creative abilities far beyond that of the competition, or at least that’s how it seems sometimes.
‘O lord, bless this thy slot, that with it thou mayest blow thy enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.’ could well have been words uttered by the ladies and gentlemen over at Print Studios before they made a slot that eviscerates the competition once more.
Unless a competitor’s HQ mysteriously blows up to leave a suspiciously looking religious mushroom cloud then we’re sure we’re probably overstating Print Studios’ competitiveness, but we’re not overstating how good Holy Hand Grenade is.
Through testing it we found ourselves regularly in awe of the Holy Hand Grenade feature and its capabilities, and while we had a few bonuses that were more of a puff than an explosion, we’re pretty impressed with Holy Hand Grenade overall.
In terms of win potential, Holy Hand Grenade looks pretty great with 20,000x as a maximum win, which is certainly rather attractive if you ask us.
Should you encounter a grenade in real life, you should probably run for cover, especially if it’s the holy kind. However, in Holy Hand Grenade we’re more than happy to be caught in the explosions, and we could certainly see ourselves as a regular attendants of church should this kind of carnage ensue.
