Kingdom of the Dead has significant appeal as an extension of the family of slots that continue to grip an audience, but does it do anything better than any of them?

In some ways, it’s rather the same, but a nice addition here is the option to choose between a fixed mystery symbol or a random one on every spin. We’re not sure which one is better, and to be honest, each could be better than the other depending on luck, but we confess ourselves as bigger fans of the way others do it.

Retriggers and extra symbols always stood out more in our opinion. We thought Legacy of Dead was better than Book of Dead because the problem with fixed symbols is how deflated you feel when you end up with a 10 or another low-paying symbol.

Kingdom of the Dead sort of addresses this issue with its alternative option, but overall we’d have liked to see more in the way of innovation here.
