The Quad Reel setup in Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 has us conflicted. We’re never too sure how to feel about the quad reels and the side bet required to utilise it, but nonetheless, we’re going to give it the benefit of the doubt to see if Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 can make believers of us.

Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 Base Game and Features

If you haven’t already guessed from the title, Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 has 4 individual Reel Sets to play with, each with 6 reels and up to a total of 470,596 ways to win. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more (or 2 or more of the highest paying symbol) from left to right, starting with the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.50 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€500 per spin, with plenty other bets in between the two.

Like many Megaways titles, Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 features Cascading Reels. Each time a winning combination is formed on either reel set, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will fall down via a Cascade, filling all empty potitions and possibly creating even more winning combinations.

In addition to this, each of the 4 reel sets has an additional Sliding Reel. If a winning combination is formed with a symbol from the Sliding Reel, it will disappear from view and all remaining symbols will move one position to the left, filling the gaps.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 is the Lion, followed by the Elephant, Rhino and Bison. Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 certainly has appeal as a slot that can operate with or without the quad reel configuration, but is there really a market for this kind of mayhem and confusion all at one time?

Even the most seasoned player will struggle to comprehend all of this action at once, and in some ways, it takes away from the experience. Part of the fun is reading the reels to see what connections you’ve got coming before you’ve even hit them, but the sensory overload of these quad reel slots makes it a little hard to read.

In terms of potential, Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 is very capable, with up to 50,000x possible. We’re not sure what kind of carnage would need to ensue to hit the maximum win, but make no mistake, Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 can deliver.

Overall, we’re torn on Majestic Megaways Extreme 4. We’ve got a soft spot for the Majestic series, and by extension we’ve a soft spot for this new one too. However, we’re just not fully sold on the Quad Reel config yet.

Perhaps another slot can convert us, at which point we’d come back to this review and profusely swear fealty to Majestic Megaways Extreme 4 and its quad reels.
