Neon Villains DoubleMax Base Game and Features

Neon Villains DoubleMax is a 5 reel slot with 234 ways to win. Forming winning combinations requires 3 or more of the same symbols to land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€40 per spin, with an ample selection of options inbetween the two. Neon Villains DoubleMax has a theoretical RTP of 96.00% and a max win cap of 25,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is Character with the Red background, followed by Characters with Purple, Green and Blue backgrounds. Low-paying symbols fall to Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades.

Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and a Wild symbol will be placed in one of the empty positions. New symbols will then drop down from above, filling all other empty positions on the reels.

Multipliers

On the left side of the reel set sits a Multiplier Meter. Each time a winning combination is formed during any spin, the Multiplier level will increase.

The Multiplier will continue to increase as long as winning combinations are formed for that particular spin. Once no more winning combinations are made, the Multiplier will reset back to x1 for the next spin.

Golden Bet

Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Golden Bet.

Choosing to activate this feature will cost an extra 20% on top of your current bet per spin, but with that comes one advantage.

Activating the Golden Bet will Double your chances of triggering the Free Spins round with each spin.

Neon Villains DoubleMax Free Spins

Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatters across the reels in any position triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 7, 9 and 11 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, the Multiplier Meter does not reset and rolls over to the next Free Spin. Each time a winning combination occurs, a Wild symbol will be placed in a random empty position on the reels.

Neon Villains DoubleMax Bonus Buy

Those outside the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option.

Yggdrasil Gaming has granted players access to 3 Bonus Buy options as follows.

  • Option 1 – Awards the Free Spins round with 7 Free Spins for a total cost of 100x your current bet.
  • Option 2 – Awards the Free Spins round with 9 Free Spins for a total cost of 200x your current bet.
  • Option 3 – Awards the Free Spins round with 11 Free Spins for a total cost of 500x your current bet.

Neon Villains DoubleMax: Our Verdict

Neon Villains Double Max looks completely unrecognisable yet strangely familiar to the likes of Raptor Doublemax.

Millions of the years after the prehistoric release comes a group of villains hellbent on their quest for ill-gotten gains, but which should you choose?

Statistically speaking, Neon Villains DoubleMax is the one to go for with 25,000x as a maximum win compared to Raptor’s 20,000x potential. The theme itself is inferior to the jungles densely populated with T-Rexes in our opinion, but you can’t argue with Neon Villains appeal.

The DoubleMax mechanic has become quite a beloved feature among slot players, and we’ve got a feeling this isn’t the last time we’ll see it in action.

For now, Neon Villains DoubleMax scratches the itch of DoubleMax fans everywhere, and we’re excited to see where they’ll take it next.
