With the Spinions finally recovered from their Xmas Party, it’s time to stretch their legs and fulfill a life-long dream which is to take part in a football tournament, and that day has finally come. Spinions Game Day is the third instalment to the popular Spinions series which is said to be the most stickiest game to date, featuring a revamped math model for players who love the classic features and long sessions.

In the words of Quickspin themselves “This game will charm the socks off even the grumpiest referee and convert everyone into a raging football fan”, a strong statement indeed but will Spinions Game Day live up to this?

Spinions Game Day Base Game and Features

Spinions Game Day is a 5 reel slot with 25 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol types land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Spinions Game Day has a theoretical RTP of 96.07% and a maximum win capacity of 3,717x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Spinions Game Day is the Football Boots, followed by the Gloves, Megaphone, Hat and Whistle. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. There is also a Wild symbol present in the form of spinion football players which substitutes for all other symbols except Scatters.

In terms of features, Quickspin hasn’t made too many changes to Spinions Game Day which brings back the popular WIld Respins feature, but with a slight twist. More on this below!

Passing Wild Respins

During the base game, if 2 or more Wild symbols land in view in a single spin, the Passing Wild Respins feature will trigger.

Once this happens, a Respin will be awarded and all current Wilds will remain on the reels. During the respin, a football is kicked to one of the Wilds on the screen which is then passed to another wild, and this is done whilst each of the wilds move to a new position on the reel set.

The Wild symbol that recieves the football is awarded a +1 Multiplier which is then applied to all subsequent winning combinations. If during the Passing Wild Respins feature another Wild was to appear, an additional Respin is awarded. This continues until no more Wild symbols land in view.

Spinions Game Day Free Spins

Landing 3 Trophy Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.

During the Free Spins round, any Wild symbols that land across the reel set will remain on the reels for the duration of the Bonus round. Like the Passing Wild Respins feature, all present Wilds will wander to a new position in between spins.

Once there are 2+ Wild symbols on the reels, a football will be introduced randomly to one of the wild symbols. The football will then be passed round to another random Wild symbol, increasing their current Multiplier by +1.

Landing a Scatter symbol on reel 5 during the Free Spins round awards an additional +5 Free Spins.

Spinions Game Day: Our Verdict

It’s so nice to see our favourite little guys and gals back for another instalment, but has Quickspin managed to pull it off for a third time? With a change of scenery and a few tweaks to gameplay, we definitely think so!

Out of all the settings Quickspin could have chosen for their next Spinions release, the football scene seems rather fitting given the huge popularity of the sport itself, and if the loveable Spinions are involved then the theme becomes almost irrelevant.

Seeing as Spinions Game Day is the third instalment to the series, you would expect to see a few changes to gameplay which is exactly what we got, including a few fancy hairdo’s for our favourite orange buddies.

Although the Passing Wild Respins feature remains almost identical to those before it, Quickspin has tied the football theme into this nicely by giving the Wild symbols free reign across the pitch with every Respin and throwing in a football that gets passed from wild to wild, increasing their current Multiplier values to potentially deliver some pretty nice hits.

This feature also brings plenty of excitement in the Free Spins round too, with Wilds kicking the ball around the pitch, upping their current Multipliers as they go. The best outcome you can hope for during this round is an entire pitch filled with wandering Wilds and a nice selection of Multipliers.

In terms of statistics, Spinions Game Day has an above average RTP of 96.07% and a less than impressive maximum win capacity of 3,717x. This figure may not sit well with certain players, but the love we have for spinions will defiinitely outweigh this any day of the week.
