The warmer months are fast approaching and the bees are getting busy in Pragmatic Play’s latest release, Sticky Bees!

Sticky Bees welcomes another of Pragmatic’s cluster pays slot, which Pragmatic Play excel in perhaps more so than anyone else. Fruit Party is a prime example of a cluster pays slot done well, but will Sticky Bees follow suit?

Sticky Bees Base Game and Features

Sticky Bees is a 7×7 Video Slot with a Cluster Pays mechanic. Winning combinations are formed when 5 or more of the same symbols land across the grid either Horizontally or Vertically.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Sticky Bees has a theoretical RTP of 96.06% and a max win cap of 10,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Strawberry, followed by Plums, Watermelons, Oranges, Grapes, and Cherries. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, and Jack. Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Scatters.

Each time a winning cluster is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the grid and new symbols will drop down from above via a Tumble feature. The Tumble feature will continue until no more winning clusters are formed.

Marked Positions and Super Wilds

During each new base game spin, between 12 and 19 random positions will be specially marked on the grid.

Whenever a Super Wild symbol (Gold Bee) lands on a marked position, as the result of a base game spin or tumble, it will automatically activate that particular position.

Once a marked position is active, any symbol that is present on it will transform into a Wild symbol. This position will remain active until the end of all subsequent tumbles from the same base game spin.

In the base game, each time a Super Wild lands on a marked position, it awards an additional +2, +3, +4, +5, or +6 Super Wilds at random to other marked positions on the grid, activating them until the end of all tumbles from the same base game spin.

Sticky Bees Free Spins

Landing 4 or more Bonus Scatters across the grid triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 7 Free Spins plus an extra +1 Free Spins for each Scatter after the 4th.

At the start of Free Spins, between 16 and 19 grid positions will be specially marked for the duration of the round. During Free Spins, 1, 2, or 3 Super Wilds are guaranteed to land on random marked positions with each Free Spin.

All activated marked positions will remain in play until the end of the Free Spins round. Landing 3 or more Bonus Scatters during this time will award an additional +1 Free Spin.

If you’re looking for a Cluster Pays slot that’s done right, then you only have to look through Pragmatic Play’s innovative collection. Pragmatic Play stands out as one of the best Providers for Cluster Pays slots, with titles like Fruit Party and Gems Bonanza being just a couple of attractive games under their belt.

Since then, Pragmatic Play has been busy producing a number of quality Cluster Pays slots, but will Sticky Bees have the same effect on us as those before it?

Before we turn to gameplay, can we just appreciate Sticky Bees for the beauty that it is? Nothing screams ‘summer’ more than a colourful and enchanting slot about bees, and Pragmatic Play has done so beautifully.

The Marked Positions and Super Wilds feature is simple yet gripping, offering up a huge amount of potential when in full swing, but it also does well to top up the balance with smaller wins here and there.

The Super Wilds are only heightened in Free Spins, where up to 6 can be randomly added to marked positions with each Free Spin. During testing, we found that Super Wilds can land on a marked position that is already active, but this doesn’t award anything new in terms of Multipliers ect.

All in all, Pragmatic Play has succeeded once again in delivering a Cluster Pays slot that’s both beautiful and promising, but it is quite as satisfying as Fruit Party? That’s for you to decide.
