For years I’d just deposit whatever felt right in the moment, chase losses, and convince myself it would “balance out later.” Total nonsense. Recently I started splitting my money into a small, fixed “play fund” that resets monthly and a completely separate stash for actual life expenses. Sounds obvious, but it’s the first time gambling hasn’t felt stressful, or like I’m fighting myself.
