Do Slots have a memory?

Right so i’ve been playing bonanza and DHV a lot recently and i mean a LOT! Had quite a few bonuses, but nothing major on them for a long time but playing at all kinda of stakes depending on the game and balance.

It got me to wondering, do the slots somehow have a way of remembering the player via their IP address so it is consistent across casinos? In the same manner that a bonus hunt works and the game remembers where you last left off. Do you think the games have a way of knowing how much has been staked/wagered over time and pays out according to that somehow?

I know i sound like a bit of a crazy man saying this, but just wondered and the world of slot alogrithms fascinate me into how they are configured. But i’ll never know and just sit here waiting for that massive win that will never come

I agree that maybe not tracking IP addresses, but there has to be a level of information that is stored for statistical purposes and to be able to calculate and tell a player what their RTP is on a specific game as is the case on Videoslots.

Yes, I agree the spins are random and independent to an extent, but there is probably some deeply embedded notion of knowing what the previous spin was, but don't think it would or should influence the following spin. If that makes sense.

So think there is a lot more to slots than just saying they don't have a memory. Because they most certainly do. Even just to remember your last spin for a bonus hunt.

Im not saying they dont have a memory, just saying each spin is independent of the proir. showing your rtp on a game is separate. you can get 3rd party software that does this for you, its a simple tracking. https://www.slottracker.com/ does this for you, i used to use it.

As for bonus hunts remember your last spin, its more a server thing to detect that the user has left a game open and to restart when they open the game.

this is a very interesting question because intuitively we do think that slots have a memory-for example if we hit a big win on one slot, we are unlikely to play it much more for a while. Similarly we can feel a slot "owes" us and keep playing if we've lost a lot. Good example was Scotty the other day on Goonies. Scotty had lost a lot on it over a few days then it paid massive

Slots have a prize fund, each slot quantifies the money payed in and pays out based on that. This is done using complex RNG algorithms.

It continueasly updates itself so its constantly randomly giving out prizes without bankrupting the providers and keeping inline with the games RTP.

It would be illegal for the slot to have a memory based on what you have put in and out etc, as that would take away the gambling element, gambling has to be random due to a series of events.

In slots the events are done through RNGs

The RNG algorithms do include information regarding your gambling as in deposits, cashouts, average stake etc etc.

This information is processed within the algorithm as a small percentage from the casino to provider for customer retention purposes.

What it doesn't account for is specific losses or wins on a certain slot. Nor does it account for amount wagered overall.

So if you deposit £50 win 10k then put it back in, the wagering doesn't enter the RNG algorithm.

Plus the customer retention RNG percentage influencer is low.

The most important thing while gambling is your, bank roll, when to cashout and stop, and the ability to adjust your stake at the right time to maximise returns away from your regular week in week out stake.
