FruitySlots Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 £100 way to extreme, but nothing would suprise me anymore 1 Quote
Berryricky8 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Its a joke, I understand need for controls but telling people how much of their own money they can lose as well as how they can play (no quick spin for example). Ruining fun for people with self control Quote

But i work in a Bookies, no one ever thought the Government would actually take the FOBT's down to £2.. but they did. so i wouldnt be suprised if they did take it down to £100.. but lets hope not... gusyonok Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 it's ok people saying it is unfair on those who can control themselves and want to play more, but gambling is a serious problem for many people and you can't blame them for imposing some kind of limits. I think banning quick spin for example is a good idea. Let's face it when you are quick spinning, you're not playing for enjoyment any more, you're just trying to get the bonus quicker and we have all seen how this can turn into a real tilt where you do in a load of cash really quickly. Many also lamented the disappearance of bonus buys, but bonus buys are really dangerous and you can lose too much too quickly Quote
peasonokay Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 i see even the "all action" games have now been removed this week from 2 sites i use - UKGC finally cathing up with them? Quote

Pickup51 Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 Exactly and gambling wasn’t an issue for me when I was younger and it was fun but over time addiction does kick in and the casinos should do like a credit check or somthing like that as they do with the sow Quote

You don't see income, regular outgoings, savings, PayPal balance etc. It also wouldn't stop you depositing £100 across several casino sites not to mention that £100 has a different meaning to people across society. Any universally applied limit is stupid, it would need to be proportionate. I personally think you leave people to make their own decisions but make sure there is more support for those that need it within the casinos themselves. I would suggest the casinos should be better equipped to spot red flags and offer help, for example - they see an increase in activity or deposits/stakes without a corresponding big win to explain it - maybe asking for bank statements to prove the increased gambling or high stakes etc. are still within the persons means and asking, politely, why the sudden upturn? I don't think you can totally protect people from themselves in a fair way, there will always be cracks that genuine problem gamblers will fall through. Quote
