Dwarven Gems Megaways Review 2021

Just after the release of the rock n roll Rock the Reels Megaways, Iron Dog Studios are back with another exciting Megaways instalment and a new flashy user interface to match in Dwarven Gems Megaways!

Popular culture has often depicted Dwarves as miners and warriors and despite their short stature, they’ve proven themselves very capable in both aspects. With a skillset like this and some incredibly impressive facial hair to match, you can’t help but feel a little jealous of the Dwarves even though they are lacking on the height front.

In Dwarven Gems Megaways you’ll team up with a legendary crew of miners deep within the earth’s core to extract precious gems by any means necessary, even if it means risking a cave-in with a few sticks of dynamite.

We’ve got the hardhat, pickaxe and torches, so all we’re missing is the beard. Let’s head down into the mines in this Dwarven Gems Megaways Review to see just how many precious gems await!

Dwarven Gems Megaways Base

Dwarven Gems Megaways Slot Theme

One of the first things you’ll notice in Dwarven Gems Megaways is how incredibly aesthetic the graphics are. Iron Dog Studios have really gone above and beyond on the design front here with an immersive mining theme and likeable characters.

We wholeheartedly believe that first impressions matter when it comes to a slot game. Sometimes you load up a slot and it fails to grab your attention with lacking graphics or sounds, but Dwarven Gems Megaways does well to stand out to players as something interesting. You can tell that Iron Dog Studios carefully nurture ideas that they evidently care about, which has resulted in this case as a professional and enticing looking game.

On the audio front things sound great as well. The rather serious soundtrack adds a little bit of drama, and the sound effects showcase how hard-working this set of miners are.

Dwarven Gems Megaways: Betting and Symbols

Dwarven Gems Megaways is playable from as little as £/€0.10 per spin, or as much as £/€20 per spin. There are plenty of different options in between the two, so players everywhere can get involved in Dwarven Gems Megaways.

When it comes to symbols, the crew of Dwarves act as the highest paying symbols in the game. The Dwarf with the red background is the highest paying symbol, and he’s followed by the purple, green and orange Dwarf Symbols. Dwarven Gems Megaways: The Base Game and Features

Dwarven Gems Megaways is a 6 reel slot with up to 200,704 ways to win, which is more than your average Megaways slot!

To form a win, you’ll need at least 2 of the highest paying symbol or 3 of any other symbol to connect from left to right on consecutive reels, starting from the left-most reel. Winning symbols will disappear, which leaves empty spaces for a cascade of new symbols to fill their spaces for what could result in even more wins. As well as this, there’s also a horizontal reel above reels 2 to 5 which slides symbols from right to left. The sliding reel can contribute to wins just as symbols on the regular reels can, and winning symbols will also disappear, causing the remaining symbols to slide to the left until all spaces are filled.

Anybody who is familiar with the Megaways experience will know all too well how much potential lies even within the Base Game. Astronomical numbers of ways to win can often result in massive hits if the conditions are right, and to make Dwarven Gems Megaways even richer with potential comes the Dwarven Bomb Feature.

Dwarven Gems Megaways Base Game

Dwarven Bomb Feature

The Dynamite symbol appears on the Horizontal reel only. This symbol acts as a sticky wild and substitutes for all other symbols except for the Scatter.

If no wins include the Dwarven Bomb, then the bomb will explode itself and up to 8 other symbols, leaving ample room for new symbols to fall in via a cascade to bring potential winning combinations.

Having something a little extra like this really makes a Megaways Slot stand out from the more generic versions. Even though it’s only a small change, it can make a big difference.

Dwarven Gems Megaways Dwarven Blast Feature

Dwarven Gems Megaways Free Spins

Scatter Symbols will appear on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and will appear once per reel, and you’ll need 4 of them to trigger Free Spins.

When you get 4 Scatters, a pop up will appear which selects a random chamber to determine how many spins you get. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 Free Spins can be awarded once the chamber is picked. When you enter Free Spins you start with an x1 multiplier. This multiplier will increase by an increment of +1 for every winning cascade, and big wins can really start to materialise when you get to high multipliers.

Win potential becomes even clearer when you notice the Power Gems Feature, which is exclusive to Free Spins

Dwarven Gems Megaways Free Spins

Power Gems Feature

The Power Gem will appear only in Free Spins and only on the Horizontal Reel. This symbol will act as a Wild, and it also brings more into play. If 1 Power Gem appears it will add 2 – 4 Wilds across reels 2, 3 and 4, and if 2 Power Gems appear it will add 4-8 Wilds across reels 2, 3, 4 & 5.

Power Gems also award additional spins, with 2 spins awarded for 1 Power Gem and 4 spins awarded for 2 Power Gems.

This Feature is really significant. You can only imagine how big the wins can be if you’re on a high multiplier and you manage to land 2 power gems for a maximum of 8 Wilds!

Lucky Last Spin Feature

Watch out for the last spin of the bonus round, because you may just see the Lucky Last Spin Feature.

If you win on the last Free Spin you’ll get to see the Lucky Last Spin feature, which awards an additional spin. If you win on the Lucky Last Spin then you’ll be awarded yet another spin until you hit a non-winning spin.

Dwarven Gems Megaways Bonus Buy

Players outside of the UK can benefit from a Bonus Buy option to jump straight into the action.

Players have a choice between normal, and Bonus Upgrader High or Super Modes. High and Super Modes increase the likelihood of Power Gems and Dwarven Bombs, but they’ll cost more to buy. RTP will vary between options too

Dwarven Gems Megaways: Our Verdict

Dwarven Gems Megaways is yet another from Iron Dog Studios to highlight how to properly do a Megaways slot. Dwarven Gems may be more conventional than the likes of 1 Million Megaways BC for example, but it has all of the right stuff in both the Base Game and the Free Spins to give it something a little extra.

Both the Dwarven Bomb and the Power Gems make a significant contribution to the allure of Dwarven Gems Megaways. Without them, the outlook probably wouldn’t have been that good. Unfortunately the Bonus Buy option is out of reach for UK Players, so you won’t get to feel the significant power of these modifiers as much as those with access to the high and super bonus upgraders can, but even regular bonuses have the potential to do amazing things. All things considered, the win potential in Dwarven Gems Megaways looks brilliant with 20,000x win potential or 30,000x potential via the bonus buy option!

Graphically and audibly, Dwarven Gems Megaways is extremely impressive. A lot of slots have tried their hand at making mining themed games, but this is one of the better ones we’ve seen in terms of graphics, and overall, we think Dwarven Gems Megaways is a fine example of a great Megaways Game from the ladies and gentlemen over at Iron Dog Studios.
