Enough information has been provided about this slot, including, in most cases a demo version which has allowed us to fully try the slot and complete the review.
Microgaming partner Crazy Tooth Studio has come home to roost in their latest slot, Lucky Clucks!
Lucky Clucks certainly isn’t a slot to take too seriously. The humorous intent of its design and the title of it is evident right from the start, but does this silly slot have serious potential?
Let’s find out.
First impressions of Lucky Clucks isnt particularly great, the overall design is a bit dated in our opinion and could do with a little sprucing up. If you can get past the old fashioned graphics, the overall theme is actually pretty good and the gameplay is somewhat comical.
The background of Lucky Clucks does not leave us guessing what the theme could actually be and we are given a pretty obvious clue in the title of this slot as well, taking centre stage is a red barn with hens perched on top which houses the reels of Lucky Clucks and a lushious green field with farm animals roaming free can be seen in the distance surrounding it.
On the odd occasion you will notice a spaceship that comes across the sky and abducts a cow grazing in the field, it is slightly bonkers and irrelevant to the overall theme but we couldn’t help but laugh as its not everyday you see a cow being abducted by a spaceship right?
The music playing throughout is quite chirpy and energetic and the sound effects tie in nicely with the overall farming theme.
Once you get past the poor graphics Lucky Clucks does kind of grow on you, making this a whacky addition to Crazy Tooth Studios ever-expanding portfolio!
Lucky Clucks has a variety of betting options for players to choose from. For players who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available is £0.15 per spin. For players who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £15 per spin with a selection of options in between the two. The maximum bet may seem on the lower side to what we are used to in other slot games, but there is still plenty of potential to be had.
The highest paying regular symbol in Lucky Clucks is the Cow, followed by the Sheep, the Goat, the Pig and the Gold, Silver and Purple Horseshoes. Lower paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen and Jack.
Wilds substitute for all symbols except Scatter symbols.
Lucky Clucks is a 5 reel slot with 576 ways to win. To form a win, you’ll need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols anywhere on adjacent reels. Wins aren’t restricted from right to left or left to right, so you need only 3 symbols on consecutive reels to hit a win.
Like the graphics in Lucky Clucks, the base game can come across as pretty basic, but we can count our ‘clucky’ stars that Crazy Tooth Studios has thrown in The Big BuildUp Feature. Without this little addition, we would certainly go ‘Clucking Mad’!
The Big BuildUp feature can happen on any random spin.
During this feature, 1 or more of the Chickens may lay eggs revealing featured prizes which include the Mother Hen prize, Wild symbols or 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x Multipliers.
The Mother Hen Prize Ranges from £/€7.50 to £/€4,500. To increase this prize, you’ll need to land corn symbols on the reels, which increases the prize by £/€2.00 to £/€15.00.
Each Wild that is awarded adds a symbol position to its reel and Multipliers awarded with the Mother Hen will only multiply the Mother Hen Prize.
The Big BuildUp feature completes when all feature prizes have been revealed.
To trigger the Raise the Roof Bonus you will need to land 3 or more Scatters on any of the 5 reels, 3, 4 and 5 Scatter symbols awards 5, 7 and 9 Free Spins respectively.
During each spin, one or more chickens may land and award Wild symbols. Each awarded wild symbol adds a symbol position to the reel which stays active for the remainder of Free Spins.
All wild symbols that remain on the reels will then nudge down with each spin until they are no longer on the reels.
The Raise the Roof Free Spins cannot be retriggered.
You cant help but feel a little disappointed when you see Lucky Clucks for the first time, the graphics are a little dated and there isnt a whole lot of detail in the layout.
We feel that Lucky Clucks would be best suited for players who have an appreciation for a classic/retro gameplay experience.
Once you move past the vintage graphics and lack of detail, you may actually start to enjoy yourself! We love the fact that Lucky Clucks makes you chuckle on occasion, especially the poor cow that gets abducted every so often by an alien spaceship and the googly-eyed farm animal symbols!
The BigBuildUp feature was a little confusing to work out at first and for players who dont like taking time out to read the fine print, may want to avoid Lucky Clucks completely. The RTP isnt terrible, with an above average of 96.19% but it could be a lot better.
Sadly, we think Crazy Tooth Studios may have used up all their good eggs on previous games and saved none for Lucky Clucks.
