Alchemy Slot Review 2022
All that glitters is not Gold..or is it? For hundreds of years, Alchemists have tried to turn base metals into Gold, but are you ready to recieve this kind of Knowledge? Storm Gaming are proud to bring yet another new release to our screens, with its immersive medieval theme and mysterious ways, you won’t be disappointed.
With the lure of Ancient riches, will we have the strength to succeed where the Alchemists have failed? Let’s play on and find out!
Alchemy Base Game and Features
Alchemy is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbol types from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€10 per spin, with a small selection of bets in between the two.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Alchemy is the Yellow symbol, followed by the Grey, Purple, White, Red and Blue symbols. Low paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, and Jack. There is also a Wild symbol present, which substitiutes for all symbols except Scatters.
It seems that Storm Gaming has let things slide a little since the release of Payday Megaways, with Alchemy not having any kind of feature to keep us entertained in the base game. The best you can hope to see in the base game is Wild symbols that will expand to fill the entire reel when they land in view.
Alchemy Free Spins
Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatters in any position on the reels, triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 2x, 20x and 50x your current bet respectively. Regardless of how many Scatters you land during the intial trigger, you will still only receive 10 Free Spins. Additional Free Spins can be awarded during this round, by landing 3 or more Scatters on the reels.
The Free Spins round works in a similar way to the base game, the only difference being that all expanding Wilds that land will upgrade all Low paying symbols in view, plus award +1 Free Spin. The more Wilds that land, the greater the number of High-paying symbols in view.
Alchemy: Our Verdict
There must be something in the air recently or maybe its just us having high expectations when it comes to new releases, but it seems that there is a lot of bogus titles being released at the moment (we won’t mention names). Alchemy didn’t really spark much in us at first glance to be honest, but we like to keep an open mind and not judge a book by its cover too quickly, but it seems we were right to do so here.
We must of looked quite the sight, staring at the screen with our mouths open trying to figure out if there was more to Alchemy, but even the Sun Scatters weren’t particularly impressed by Alchemy’s performance either. Gameplay feels clunky and heavy, and the design looks really old.
The Free Spins round is the only kind of excitement you will find here, and even that is at a stretch. We aren’t suggesting that Alchemy couldn’t deliver a few nice wins here and there, but looking at the sickening 1,541x win capacity, nice is the best you can hope for.
All in all, Alchemy may not float our boats, but for players who love a slot with simple gameplay and an appreciation for an old school look, Alchemy may just be the one for you.
