Bounty Gold Slot Review 2021
Bounty Gold from Pragmatic Play has us riding horseback once more into the Wild West for a robbery, a stick up and a bar fight.
If we sound a little bit unenthusiastic about Bounty Gold, it’s because we are. When you first load up the game you’re greeted with the very definition of generic with a predictable theme, but is the gameplay predictable too?
Wild West Slots certainly hold a special place in our hearts, but this time we’re reluctant outlaws as we see what Bounty Gold really has to offer, if anything at all.
Bounty Gold Theme
Bounty Gold is pretty much your bog standard Wild West Slot. In the background you’ll see a Western town with a saloon and a bank, and to accompany the design comes a western music soundtrack. Neither are particularly bad, but they’re just really boring.
Many has tried their hand at this sort of genre, and even the best of them don’t come across as particularly innovative.
Design definitely will not be an aspect of Bounty Gold which stands out to you, but we’re not entirely confident that the gameplay will either if we’re honest.
Bounty Gold Betting and Symbols
Bounty Gold has a selection of betting options for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available is £0.25 per spin. For those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £125 per spin, with plenty of options in between the two.
The highest paying regular symbol in Bounty Gold is the Cowgirl, followed by the Cowboy, the Hat and the Horseshoe. Lower paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen and Jack.
Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except Money symbols.
Bounty Gold Base Game and Features
Bounty Gold is a 5 reel slot with 25 fixed paylines. To form a win you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
The base game in Bounty Gold doesn’t exactly scream fun, the one good thing we have picked up on is that Wilds appear more often than not and sometimes in the form of Stacked Wilds.
In terms of features, Pragmatic Play has used the Money Bag symbols not only for Free Spins but as part of a base game feature. The Fiery Money feature isn’t the most thrilling feature we’ve seen in slot games but it definitely feels a void and brings a little excitement to the base game.
Fiery Money Feature
Gold Money symbols can land on any of the reels and each has a specific value attached to them.
On any random spin in the base game, any of the Gold Money symbols can hit as a Fiery Money symbol.
If a Fiery Money symbol lands on the reels, the value of the Money symbol will be awarded instantly.
Bounty Gold Money Respins
Landing 6 or more of the Money symbols on any of the reels, awards 3 Money Respins.
Once Money Respins are triggered, you will be greeted by four 5×3 matrices, with only one of these unlocked at the start of Respins.
Similar to the Hold & Win dynamic, all regular symbols will be removed, leaving only the Money symbols that triggered the Respins in play.
During Respins, if additional Money symbols land in view, they will lock into position and Respins will be reset back to 3.
Depending on how many Money symbols triggered the Respins feature, 1, 2, 3 or 4 matrices can be unlocked as folows.
- 6 Money symbols – 1 of 4 Matrices is unlocked.
- 9 Money symbols – 2 of 4 Matrices is unlocked.
- 18 Money symbols – 3 of 4 Matrices is unlocked.
- 26 Money symbols – All 4 Matrices are unlocked.
Each time a Matrix is unlocked, the values of all Money symbols will be Multiplied at the end of each round by 2x for the 2nd Matrix, 3x for the 3rd Matrix and 4x for the 4th Matrix.
A little something extra to get excited about! If all positions are filled on a single Matrix, a Jackpot is awarded.
- Filling the 1st Matrix – Awards a Jackpot of 25x your bet.
- Filling the 2nd Matrix – Awards a Jackpot of 50x your bet.
- Filling the 3rd Matrix – Awards a Jackpot of 500x your bet.
- Filling the 4th Matrix – Awards a Jackpot of 5,000x your bet. This Jackpot is equal to the max win, if this is awarded the Respin round will come to an end.
If you’re lucky enough to land 44 Money symbols during Respins, a 5x Multiplier will be applied to all Money symbols. The individual Matrix Multipliers will be void.
Bounty Gold Our Verdict
Bounty Gold is okay, but just okay, and ONLY JUST, okay. We were pretty tempted to rate it bad to be fair.
Bounty Gold is pretty uneventful in both design and gameplay. The Base Game is one of the most boring slot experiences that we’ve had, and the Bonus has flickers of promise, but nothing that exciting. We like the 4 reel sets and the multipliers and Jackpots assigned to each of them, but there’s something wrong when this is literally the only appealing thing about the game.
Pragmatic Play’s favourite 5,000x win value rears its head once more, and to be fair to them, we have seen their slots hit the cap which is more than can be said for a lot of other providers. But is it because the win cap is pretty low? Pragmatic has certainly stuck with their guns so far on the 5,000x value, so it’s hard to be excited about many of their slots when they’re not bringing out unprecedented potential.
Either way, we feel like even double or triple the win potential wouldn’t have been enough to make Bounty Gold a decent game.
It’s the very definition of average, and highly forgettable.
