The courageous and fiery red head Gemma is back again for another instalment in Thunderkick’s Crystal Quest series, and this time we’ve swapped the deep jungle for something a little more magical in Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot.
Adventure is Gemma’s middle name, and Arcane Tower looks to be every bit as adventurous as the previous game. Danger is looming in the realm of sorcery, but what else surprises might be lurking in the mystical and surreal realm?
Thunderkick are a diverse and capable provider who has regularly shown an aptitude for innovation. They’re the brains behind the electrifying Beat the Beast series, as well as Riders of the Storm, Sword of Khans and many more that you’d undoubtedly recognise.
It’s an impressive track record, and if anything, it just makes you excited for just about anything they bring out.
Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot will see you enter a surreal and magical realm. In the background you’ll see the Arcane Tower central among floating platforms that hold magical crystals.
The music in Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot fits well with the theme of the game with a wonderous and unearthly tone. The design of the reels and symbols naturally follows much of the same formula you’d have seen in Deep Jungle, but with a different coat of paint to fit in with the new theme.
Betting options for Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot are pretty standard and expansive enough for everyone. The lowest available bet is £0.10 per spin, with the highest option at £100. There are lots of options in between the two, so there’s something for everyone.
The top symbol in the game is the rather menacing looking Wizard, followed by an even more menacing Knight. The bigger Red, Green, and Blue Gems also account for high paying symbols, and the smaller pink, orange, yellow green and turquoise crystals are low paying.
There’s also a Wild symbol that substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter.
Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot uses 4096 Pay ways. To form a win, you’ll need at least 3 matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the left-most reel.
Symbols will connect regardless of their position on their respective reels thanks to the ways to win method used, as long as they’re connected via adjacent reels.
Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot also utilizes an avalanche mechanic. This means that winning combinations will be removed from the grid, and new symbols will fall in from above to fill the empty spaces, creating the possibility for multiple wins per spin.
To further enhance the excitement, the game also has a couple of different features that greatly improves the Base Game.
On any given spin, the Arcane Tower may stir up a storm, starting the Linked Reels Feature. Up to 6 adjacent reels may link, becoming identical copies of each other.
This will greatly improve chances of connecting some symbols all the way across, and it can even result in some nice hits if you synchronise a good number of reels.
Much like Deep Jungle, Arcane Tower also includes an increasing multiplier.
Your multiplier will increase by +1 for every avalanche triggered. This continues as long as there are avalanches, but will reset next spin back to the default 1x. In Free Spins, this multiplier will not reset between spins.
3 or more scatters are needed to trigger the bonus. 12 Free Spins will be awarded for 3, and any additional will give you 3 extra spins on top of that. The game can also be re-triggered within the bonus, and at least 2 scatters will be needed, which will award 2 extra spins.
As mentioned, the multiplier will not reset between spins, so you have a real chance at getting that multiplier high for some big hits.
If there are no winning combinations, but a Wild exists on the reel, then it will explode and remove all other symbols vertically and horizontally, triggering the avalanche feature. This is a nice addition, as the multiplier will increase and you’ll have an extra chance at getting some connections.
Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot is all in all pretty much Deep Jungle, with the exception of the Linked Reels Feature and of course, the theme.
Deep Jungle had Mystery Symbols instead of Synced reels, but the increasing multiplier and bonus feature is pretty much identical.
That’s not to say that this isn’t a good game, because Deep Jungle was, but it just feels like that not enough about it is different to classify it as a ‘new game’. If synced reels are you thing, then go for this, and if you prefer mystery symbols, then go with Deep Jungle.
Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot is also volatile just like Deep Jungle was, so you may be hard pressed to reel in those big wins, and if you do they’ll be infrequent, but the trade-off of course is that the game can pay massive in certain conditions.
Crystal Quest Arcane Tower Slot will be available to play on desktop and Mobile Casino devises on the 9th December 2020.
