Dead Riders Trail Slot Review 2024
Dead Riders Trail from Relax Gaming picks up where the infamous Dead Man’s Trail left off, yet in this instalment we’re leaving the life of a buccaneer behind in favour of heists, guns and gangs in what looks to be Grand Theft Auto if it was a slot.
One of the aspects that stood out about Dead Man’s Trail was its graphics. The style and the detail was nothing short of sublime, and while Dead Riders Trail takes a turn in terms of theme, it doesn’t sacrifice any of the quality. Dead Riders Trail looks extremely exciting on sight alone, but will the ill gotten gains be worth that shootouts and the robberies required to get them?
Let’s ride out in Relax Gaming’s latest exciting instalment together and check out what it has to offer.
Dead Riders Trail Base Game and Features
Dead Riders Trail is a 6 reel slot with up to 46,656 ways to win. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbol types from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€20 per spin, with plenty of betting options in between the two.
Dead Riders Trail features Cascading Reels. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will fall down via a Cascade. Once a Cascade occurs, there is a chance that more winning combinations will form. If winning symbols are adjacent to Stone Blocks, these too will be removed.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Dead Riders Trail is the Logo, followed by Characters with Red, Green, Purple and Blue backgrounds. Low-paying symbols fall to Hearts, Diamonds, Spades and Clubs. There is also a Wild symbol present which substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols. Wilds will only appear on reels 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Dead Riders Trail Free Spins
Dead Riders Trail doesn’t have the most exciting base game, but where it lacks in features it soon makes up for in Free Spins and Bonus rounds.
The only way to access these rounds is by clearing the entire reel set of Stone Blocks. Once this happens, you will be awarded a spin on the Feature Wheel. The Feature Wheel offers between 4 and 7 Free Spins, Bonus Trail or Super Bonus Trail. Spin the wheel to determine your fate!
If Free Spins are awarded, you will be given a choice to Gamble them for the Bonus Trail. If you choose to Gamble your Free Spins and literally lose a finger, you will return to the base game empty-handed.
During the Free Spins round, certain Stone Blocks will have C-4 attached to them. Any winning symbols adjacent to these will cause the C-4 to explode, transforming all High and Low-paying symbols in that reel to the same symbol type. The game will automatically choose the symbol that will form the biggest win.
Clearing the entire reel set of Stone Blocks will award an aditional +3 Free Spins.
Bonus Trail
The Bonus Trail works in a similar fashion to the Bonus Trail in Dead Man’s Trail. At the start of the Bonus Trail, you will be represented by a Pawn that moves 1-6 steps around the Trail.
The total amount of turns you get is shown by the 3 Fuel Cans on the left side of the Trail. Each time you move on the trail, 1 Fuel Can is used and will reset back to 3 if you land on a Value with another Fuel Can on it. Once you land on a value with a Fuel Can, it will be removed from the trail completely.
As you make your way around the Trail, any Values you stop on will be collected and added to the Total Win in the middle of the trail. Along the way you may find yourself on top of a Silver or Gold van. Silver vans can deliver any of the following Modifers but Gold vans are only able to deliver the Persistent versions and the Collect All Modifier.
- Sniper – Multiplies between 3 and 6 tile Values by x2.
- Payer – Increases all tile Values between 3x and 10x.
- Cash – Awards between 25x and 50x your current bet to the Total Win.
- Two Knife – Awards between 50x and 200x to up to 4 random tile Values.
- Refuel – Between 2 and 4 Fuel Cans are added to random tiles.
- Shoot Back – Your total win so far is added to 1-3 random tile positions.
- Collect – All Values nearest to your Pawn are collected, up to a maximum of 4.
- Collect All – All values on the Trail are Collected and added to your Total Win.
- Persistent Sniper – Functions in the same way as the regular Sniper, but triggers on every turn.
- Persistent Payer – Functions in the same way as the regular Payer, but triggers on every turn.
- Persistent Two Knife – Functions in the same way as the regular Two Knife, but triggers on every turn.
If you make it back to your starting point on the Trail, you will pass through a barrier that adds +3x to each of the Tile Values and +1 Fuel Can to the meter.
Super Bonus Trail
The Super Bonus Trail works in exactly the same way the regular Bonus Trail does, the only difference is that the Silver van nearest to the starting point is replaced with a Gold van.
Dead Riders Trail Bonus Buy
For those outside the UK, you may benefit from a Bonus Buy option.
Here you will be met with 3 Bonus Buy options which are as follows.
- Feature Wheel – Choosing this option will award a Spin on the Feature Wheel for a total cost of 50x your current bet.
- Bonus Trail – The regular Bonus Trail can be purchased for 90x your current bet.
- Super Bonus Trail – The Super Bonus Trail can be purchased for 250x your current bet.
Dead Riders Trail: Our Verdict
Dead Riders Trail might be Relax’s most exciting instalment this year, though it may yet be topped by their own upcoming slot, Money Train 3.
Dead Riders Trail is high octane action in every sense of the word, with explosions, money, guns and lawless criminals ready and willing to do anything to get their hands on the goods. Crime pays, as they say, and we think it’s proven to be so in Dead Riders Trail. Dead Riders Trail and the Free Spin Bonus Trail is so exciting in fact, that it’s quite difficult to endure in the Base Game.
That’s not to take away from the Base Game and what Relax Gaming has created in that regard, it’s just that the Trail Bonus is so exciting that you can hardly wait to make your way around it.
Of course, the Super Bonus Trail is the one you want, yet sadly, it’s not going to be within reach for players outside of bonus buy territory. As much as it stings, the regular bonus trail still has a lot to offer and plenty of excitement. When the momentum builds, Dead Riders Trail can be a nail-biting experience. Through testing, we had a few of the multipliers on the trail at their maximum 1000x value, and to watch in anticipation for one to hit gives you butterflies like few slots can.
In terms of potential, Dead Riders Trail is extremely capable with a huge 50,000x win cap. If you could pull it off, you’ll feel like the coolest criminal ever to tear up the asphalt as you ride away into the sunset with your newly found (and illicitly gained) wealth.
Overall, Dead Riders Trail isn’t a slot you want to miss. High action, stunning graphics and huge potential makes it a must-try for any player in the market for huge wins.
