Hot Fiesta Slot Review
You’re going to need to take a siesta after experiencing Hot Fiesta Slot from Pragmatic Play, where wins of up to 5,000x are possible and the party never stops…Maybe anyway. Let’s take a look at Pragmatic’s new instalment to see if this fiesta is one worth leaving the house for.
A Fiesta is an event marked by festivities and celebration, and Pragmatic Play want you to join in the party,
This year alone, we’ve had many diverse and captivating instalments from the studio, such as Madame Destiny Megaways, The Hand of Midas, Gates of Olympus and much more.
We’ve even got fierce looking instalments that are yet to be released, like Power of Thor Megaways and Buffalo King Megaways.
The Piñatas, Sombreros are out in force and the drinks are flowing, let’s join the party and see what Hot Fiesta Slot has to offer
Hot Fiesta Slot Theme
The Hot Fiesta festivities puts you in the middle of a lively street party, with confetti, bunting and music that portrays a celebratory theme.
The Mexican Style theme in Hot Fiesta isn’t unlike anything we’ve seen before, so you can’t really say that Pragmatic Play have gone for a completely original theme. Despite a somewhat unoriginal showing, you can’t deny that Pragmatic Play haven’t done their utmost in creating an accurate portrayal of an energetic Mexican fiesta.
The music for the game sounds pretty good, with a subtle mariachi band tone when the game is at a standstill, which will pick up for a more dynamic sounding tune as you start spinning the reels.
Let’s look to the betting options in Hot Fiesta, as well as the symbols and their pay outs to see if there really is reason for celebration.
Hot Fiesta Slot: Betting and Symbols
In usual style, Pragmatic Play have offered players plenty of different options when it comes to the stakes you can choose from.
Bets can be customised via a bet level, coin value, or simply total bet. The lowest option is £/€0.25, and the highest option is £/€125. This however does not take into account the Ante Bet that Pragmatic Play have included.
The Ante Bet will increase you stake, which doubles the chance to win the feature.
Discussions have often surrounded this kind of feature on whether or not it actually does anything…It does, they wouldn’t be allowed to put it in after all if it didn’t.
If anything, playing a game with the Ante Bet turned off and still not getting the feature doesn’t really inspire any confidence on the performance of the game without this feature.
Regardless, with this mode on, More Scatter Symbols are present on the reels, which naturally increases chances.
The highest paying symbol in the game is the Mariachi man, followed by the lady with a Rose. You can get some pretty decent hits off of a line of these, with 30x and 20x rewards respectively for a full line of these symbols.
Following on from the character symbols is the Accordion, Guitar, Maracas and the Cocktail. Low paying symbols are A, K, Q, J & 10.
There is also a Wild symbol which is represented by the Piñata, which substitutes for all symbols except for the scatter.
Hot Fiesta Slot: The Base Game and Features
Hot Fiesta Slot is a high volatility game with 25 set pay lines.
In order to form a win, you’ll need to connect at least 3 symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
As mentioned, you can get some decent wins via full lines of the higher paying symbols, and rewards may be even better with the help of the Wild symbol, which can have a multiplier.
Wilds can have a random multiplier of 2x, 3x or 5x. If there is more than one of these multipliers in a single line, then the multipliers will be added together for a total multiplier.
Apart from this, there doesn’t seem to be any other stand out features in the game. So far, it seems like Hot Fiesta has taken some sort of inspiration from The Dog House in terms of the multiplying Wilds.
Let’s look to the Free Spins to see what kind of surprises await for us there.
Hot Fiesta Slot Free Spins
The Free Spins in Hot Fiesta Slot are triggered when 3 bonus symbols land on reels 1, 3 and 5.
There’s an inherent problem in some games, including Hot Fiesta, where for some reason you need to land the Scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 only.
This massively dampens the anticipation factor of every game that utilises this method. If you don’t land the Scatter Symbol on the 1st reel then you know straight away that the dream is over. Not only this, but it also means that you can’t get 4 or 5 Scatters for more spins.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that a set number of spins are available though, as Hot Fiesta once again shows its Dog House inspiration in terms of the calculation of your Free Spins.
Before the round starts, 3 rows of Piñatas will explode in succession, revealing a certain number of spins. Because of this, 9-27 Spins are available in Hot Fiesta Slot.
During the Free Spins, any wilds that land will become Sticky Roaming Wilds.
These Wilds will change positions every spin, and they’ll have a random multiplier of 2x, 3x or 5x once again.
Unfortunately, the feature can not be re-triggered, so the spins that you get at the start of the feature is your lot for the duration of the round!
With the exception of the fact that the Wilds roam, you can definitely see The Dog House inspiration here once more.
Early Wilds will be key in getting those hits, and huge wins can land if you get a few wilds on a pay line.
Those within Jurisdictions that allow Bonus Buys will be able to buy their way into the feature for 100x your stake.

Hot Fiesta Slot: Our Verdict
Hot Fiesta Slot has a fun and light-hearted theme with a party attitude, but somehow it just feels so much worse than The Dog House.
The Base Game can be very tedious, and unless you’re connecting lines you’re not really going to see the appeal. Because of this you’ll be really wanting of a bonus, and even then you can only rely on reels 1, 3 and 5 to actually get it.
Potential wise, Hot Fiesta Slot is lower than The Dog House too, which has a maximum win of over 6,000x. Hot Fiesta’s max win is still impressive enough, with a maximum possible win limit of 5,000x.
The RTP at least looks decent, with a figure of 96.50%, which is ever so slightly lower than the RTP in the Dog House by a negligible amount.
Hot Fiesta isn’t a terrible games by any means, but it’s certainly not going to be a stand out pragmatic title.
Maybe its the theme or notoriety…in hindsight The Dog House and Hot Fiesta aren’t so different. But if you’re in the mood for this type of gameplay, then you should choose The Dog House every single time.
