Big Bass Reel Repeat Slot Review
Our beloved fisherman friend is kicking it old-school on the open waters of a retro, sci-fi adventure in Big Bass Reel Repeat, courtesy of Reel Kingdom!
Leading developers, Pragmatic Play and Reel Kingdom, are stepping back on the Big Bass Bonanza train, in what feels like the one hundredth release of the series. Yes, that’s a slight exaggeration, but with the way the series is going, it’s very much a possibility.
This time, we’re dipping our rods into a ‘back to the future’ type scenario, travelling through bygone eras in a nostalgic throwback to the decades many boomers refer to as the ‘Golden Era’.
If you were to ask anyone after a certain age about the ‘simpler times, ‘ they’d happily explain their theories on ‘kids these days’ and reiterate how things were much better back then.
Maybe the older generation has a point, and things were much better then, but will the same be said of Big Bass Reel Repeat? Many Fishermen have had pleasant adventures in previous fishing slots, but none quite like this old chap.
From humble beginnings to Vegas, secret missions, the Amazon, and beyond – this is one experienced fisherman. Just imagining where Reel Kingdom could take the series next gives us goosebumps – imagine if the Fisherman woke up in an asylum in his next release, realising his fishing fantasies were all but a wild dream.
Granted, the dark and twisted themes are better served under the watchful eye of Nolimit City; however, no Big Bass release is safe from Reel Kingdom’s vivid imagination. Without further ado, let’s explore the latest slot of the series and aim high for the 5,000x max win potential.

Base Game & Features
Big Bass Reel Repeat is another highly volatile release that adds to the growing collection of Big Bass slots, consisting of 5 reels, 3 rows, and 10 fixed pay lines. Wins are guaranteed when 3-5 identical symbols land from left to right, starting from reel 1.
The highest-paying symbol falls to the Boat, followed by the dragonfly, water pistol, tacklebox, fish, and A, K, Q, J, & 10 card suits. Each symbol awards a fixed payout between 0.2x and 200x your bet, where applicable.
The Fisherman symbol acts as a Wild & Collect symbol, substituting for all symbols except Scatter and Money symbols. Fisherman Wilds are only available during the Free Spins mode and appear on all reels.

Money Symbols
During gameplay, each Fish symbol reveals a Cash Prize between 2x and 5,000x your bet, which can only be won during the Free Spins mode. In addition, Money symbols may randomly appear on the reels in sizes 2×2 or 3×3.
Scatter Features
In the base game, whenever 2 Scatter symbols appear on the reels, 1 of 2 Scatter Features may randomly trigger, causing the following outcome to occur:
- Both scatter symbols will move down one position without leaving the reel area, triggering a Respin function. This continues until one or both Scatter symbols reach the bottom of the reel.
- One or more Scatter symbols can appear on a random reel position, thus triggering the Free Spins mode.
Ante Bet & Bonus Buy
Players outside the UK jurisdiction can purchase up to 3 Bonus Buy options as follows:
- Free Spins: Instantly triggers the standard Free Spins mode for 100x your bet
- Free Spins + Repeat Chance: Purchase a single Free Spins mode with the chance to repeat the entire mode for 160x your bet
- Mega Free Spins: Triggers the Free Spins mode with the Mega Modifier guaranteed for 1,250x your bet

Alternatively, UK players and other accessible countries can activate 1 of 3 Ante Bet Features from the following options:
- Ante Bet 1: Increases your chances of triggering the Free Spins mode for 1.5x your bet
- Ante Bet 2: Increases your chances of repeating the Free Spins mode for 1.6x your bet
- Ante Bet 3: Increases your chances of triggering the Free Spins mode and repeating the entire round for 2.5x your bet
All 6 Bonus Buy/Ante Bet options fall under the same RTP module of 96.51%.
Big Bass Reel Repeat has a max win potential of 5,000x your bet. If this figure is achieved during a game round, the current mode ends, and the player qualifies for the full amount.

Big Bass Reel Repeat Free Spins
Triggering the Free Spins mode with 3, 4, or 5 Scatters in the base game awards 10, 15, and 20 Free Spins, respectively. Before the round begins, players are given a choice of 12 Cards via a Pick Feature. Each card can reveal one of the following Modifiers:
- More Fish: Guarantees more Money symbols are added to the reels, with a higher chance of landing bigger Cash Prizes
- Higher Multipliers: Each retrigger Multiplier is enhanced to x4, x6, and x20 for levels 1, 2, and 3, respectively
- 3 Fisherman Retrigger: Only 3 Fisherman symbols are needed to retrigger the mode, instead of 4
- Mega: Guarantees all of the above Modifiers to be active during the Free Spins mode

In this round, each Fisherman Wild collects all visible Money symbols and applies them to the total win of the round. After this, the Fisherman Wild is collected into a special Retrigger Trail above the main reel set.
For every 4th Fisherman collected, or 3rd if the Modifier is active, will award the following attributes, depending on the upcoming Level:
- Level 1: Awards +10 Free Spins and a Multiplier of x2 (or x4)
- Level 2: Awards +10 Free Spins and a Multiplier of x3 (or x6)
- Level 3: Awards +10 Free Spins and a Multiplier of x10 (or x20)
Lastly, during the Free Spins mode, the following Features may occur on the reels:
- Fisherman minus Money: At the end of the spin, Money symbols may be added to random reel positions
- Money minus Fisherman: At the end of the spin, Fisherman Wilds can be pulled into view via a Hook animation
- Fisherman minus Money: At the end of the spin, a special Bass-Ooka animation can transform all paytable symbols, except Fisherman Wilds

Our Honest Verdict
While we’re pumping our hard-earned money into Big Bass Reel Repeat, Reel Kingdom is laughing all the way to the bank for yet another triumphant instalment. We’ve started to lose count of exactly how many are in the series to date, but we’re confident that this one won’t be the last.
Is Reel Kingdom flogging a dead horse or milking a dead cow? Not yet, clearly. Many in the iGaming industry have grown tired of the barrage of fish, but if they truly were, then additional releases wouldn’t continue being pumped out.
In all honesty, Big Bass Bonanza and its many variants are by far one of the most compelling fishing series available, which may also be considered masterpieces. Many players are happy and comfortable with what they like, and are just not ready for innovation yet, and that’s okay, too.
The game itself is good, but it’s nothing special when compared to its predecessors. It has a fairly unique theme, which hasn’t passed the lips of this series before now. The retro/futuristic vibe it creates will have a great appeal to players who enjoy a bit of nostalgia and the unknown.
In terms of gameplay, we don’t believe it’s better or worse than other releases in the series. The Repeat Feature depends on permissible regions, meaning it may not be accessible to those in the UK.
Our reasoning for this is that the Repeat Feature is buried within the Bonus Buy tab, which is only available to certain regions and not for UK consumption. While the Ante Bet Features are our only advantage in the UK, some casinos can disable them entirely.
All in all. Big Bass Reel repeat is a worthy addition to the ongoing series, but it’s not the best one to grace our screens. Like the rest of the series, this game is stuck in an endless loop of average max win potentials and recycled features.
