Pay by Mobile Casinos UK

What is a Pay by Mobile Casino?

Pay by Mobile is a system that works directly from your smartphone, allowing you to make payments that are added directly to your monthly phone bill or taken out of your pay-as-you-go credit.

This transaction is completely private, with no bank information or financial details shared with the retailer.

A Pay by Mobile casino in the UK takes this system, allowing you to make deposits via your phone bill, as long as you have a UK SIM card or telephone number.

Since the UKGC’s survey in 2021 showed that 60% of online casino players gamble using their smartphones, Pay by Phone casinos are becoming more and more popular, offering a convenient and budget-friendly way to play.

One thing to note is that Pay by Mobile is a deposit-only method, so withdrawals aren’t supported, and a back-up alternative like a debit card or e-wallet will be needed.

Pay by Mobile Casino Providers in the UK

Payforit

Payforit is a UK-based mobile payment system that lets you deposit at Pay by Phone casinos by charging funds directly to your phone bill or prepaid credit.

Check out our Payforit casinos page for tested sites and more details

Fonix

Fonix powers many Pay by Mobile casinos, handling secure transactions between your network and the casino. It’s known for fast processing and strict spending limits, helping keep deposits manageable.

Head over to our Fonix casinos page to see which Fonix casino sites we’ve tested and recommend.

Boku

Boku was previously the dominant Pay by Phone payment option in the UK, offering instant payments. However, while still used, it’s mostly been phased out for Fonix and Payforit alternatives.

Explore our Boku casinos page to discover the top Boku casinos and our favourites.

Siru Mobile

Siru Mobile is lesser-known but a popular Pay by Mobile option across Europe, allowing players to fund their casino play without sharing bank details, as seen with Videoslots sister sites like Mega Riches.

The Pay by Phone bill casino payment providers above are all fully supported for deposits by the UK’s four major mobile networks across both contract and Pay As You Go (PAYG):

• EE
• O2
• Vodafone
• Three

Most MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators) also support Pay by Mobile because they operate on major networks. These virtual operators typically inherit mobile billing capabilities from their host networks

For example, Giffgaff runs on O2 and so does Tesco Mobile and Sky Mobile, meaning Sky Mobile Pay by Phone casinos and Pay by Tesco Mobile casinos are becoming more popular.

One thing to note is that some MVNOs may have restrictions, so be sure to check for any fees and premium rates before attempting a casino deposit.

Top Pay by Mobile Casinos

Pay by Mobile is slowly being phased out across UK casinos, so the genuine list of supported casinos we could find is quite short – popular pay by mobile casinos like MrQ now no longer offer it.

These four casinos still accept phone-bill deposits today: Videoslots, Mr Vegas and Mega Riches through Siru Mobile, and Casino Kings through PayviaPhone. All are deposit-only, and a processing fee applies.

If you’re after a specific casino that’s not on this list and you want to learn more, check out our dedicated casino reviews.

Since 2014, we’ve reviewed over 500 casinos, with 150 currently-active in the UK market. All of the sites we review are fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, guaranteeing security, safety, and fair play.

How We Rate Pay by Phone Casinos

Here at Fruity Slots, we don’t take casinos at face value or what they’re advertising as pure fact.

Rather than focusing on what a Pay by Phone bill casino claims to offer on paper, we go beyond the small print and focus on what it’s actually like for players on the platform.

We explore everything on the site (and we mean everything): licensing, welcome bonuses, the T&Cs, ongoing promos, the game variety, payment experience from start to finish, customer support, and overall usability.

This is how we actually came up with the FruityMeter, which scores each major category to paint an accurate picture of how the site performs overall. You can see these 12 categories below.

Different Types of Pay by Phone Casino Sites

The terms ‘Pay by Phone casino,’ ‘Pay by Mobile casino sites,’ and ‘Pay with Mobile Phone credit’ are all different ways of saying the same thing: a casino that accepts deposits taken from your phone bill or PAYG credit.

But while that explains how you can fund your play, it doesn’t tell you much about the type of experience you’ll get, since you might be after a new Pay by Mobile casino, or a £5 deposit Pay by Phone casino.

No matter what you’re looking for, we’ve listed the most popular types of Pay by Mobile casinos below, so you can easily find one that matches your preferences.

Check Bonus Terms

Double check the bonus terms to make sure Pay by Phone and mobile deposits aren’t excluded from claiming the welcome bonus, as some sites don’t allow prepaid options.

Best Pay by Mobile Slots

Pay by mobile slots are a great fit for players who prefer smaller, controlled budgets.

With typical limits of £30–£40 per day, Pay by Phone slots are better suited to casual sessions rather than high-roller play.

To make your balance last longer, low-stakes games are key.

At 10p per spin, a £30 deposit gives you around 300 spins – more than enough to win back some cash. This is why many players look for the best Pay by Mobile slots, where low minimum bets and fun features go hand in hand.

Popular Pay by Phone bill slots include Big Bass Bonanza, Gates of Olympus, and Starburst, which all perform well as Pay by Phone slots, combining mobile optimisation with strong features and engaging gameplay.

It’s also worth thinking about RTP and volatility. Lower volatility slots offer steadier returns and longer sessions, while high volatility games can drain a mobile-funded balance quickly with more dry spells.

What Makes Pay by Phone So Popular at Online UK Casinos?

While it’s not the biggest casino payment method out there, a growing number of players are turning to Pay by Phone bill deposit options to fund their play.

Here are some of the top reasons why Pay by Mobile casinos are becoming more popular in the UK.

Private and Secure

Only your phone number is required to make Pay by Mobile deposit, it makes this payment method one of the most private ones available, as your financial information isn’t provided to the casino.

Perfect for Budgeting

The maximum transaction and daily payment limits automatically imposed make Pay by Phone bill deposit methods like Boku and Payforit perfect for those who want to play with smaller stakes.

Instant Deposits

Pay by Mobile deposits land in your casino balance immediately after approval, so you can skip to playing your favourite Pay by Mobile slots in seconds without banking delays.

Mobile-Friendly

The clue’s in the name: Pay by Phone casinos are built specifically for mobile players, so you can easily make payments easily from your smartphone, no matter if you’re using Google Pay or Apple Pay.

What AI Thinks About Pay by Mobile Bill UK Casinos

The Fruity Slots team brings over 40+ years of combined industry experience to the table.

So while there’s plenty of know-how behind the scenes, we also put that expertise into action when testing and reviewing Pay by Phone casinos, including sites claiming to offer Pay by Phone credit UK and deposit by phone bill UK casino options.

That said, AI is playing a bigger role in how players discover new sites, with many now using it as a go-to research tool (like Google).

With this in mind, we put three popular AI chatbots to the test to see what they had to say about pay by mobile casinos, pay by phone bill casinos, and the overall experience of using mobile billing to play.

AI Collective: Intelligent Answers

To keep things fair, we posed the same exact question to three of the most widely-used AI chatbots in the UK, asking: "What should UK players look for when trying out Pay by Mobile casinos?" Here's what they came back with.

"UK players should focus on safety, limits, and payment transparency when choosing a Pay by Mobile casino. First, ensure the site is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, as this protects your funds and data. Pay by mobile is ideal for quick, private deposits without sharing bank details, but it comes with low limits (typically £10–£30) and no withdrawal support to your phone bill. You should also check for clear fees, supported networks (like Boku or Payforit), bonus eligibility, and a smooth mobile experience."

"When choosing a Pay by Mobile casino in the UK, ensure the operator holds a valid UKGC license for your protection. It's crucial to remember that this method is exclusively for deposits; you can't withdraw winnings to your phone bill, so you must have an alternative method, such as a bank transfer, for payouts. Be aware of the daily deposit limits imposed by mobile networks and casinos, which are often capped at £30 per transaction. Finally, prioritize sites with responsible gambling tools to help manage your spending effectively."

"UK players should always verify a UKGC license to ensure legal compliance and player safety. It's vital to check which specific network providers the site supports, such as Boku, Payforit, or Fonix, as each may have varying daily transaction limits and convenience fees. Always review the terms and conditions to confirm bonus eligibility, as some mobile payment methods are frequently excluded from welcome offers. Since you can't withdraw funds to a phone bill, ensure the site provides alternative payout methods."

When it comes picking Pay by Phone casinos, AI nails the basics: UKGC licensing, transaction limits, and having alternative payment methods.

While the answers are sound enough on their own, AI can’t replace the real-world testing process that affiliate sites like Fruity Slots perform with real-money deposits and gameplay.

Expert Tips

Pay Attention to Fees

All four casinos here charge for phone-bill deposits, and Casino Kings adds a 15% fee through PayviaPhone. Check the cashier before you confirm, as fees sit on top of your deposit, so a small top-up costs more than its face value.

How to Use Pay by Mobile at an Online Casino

Making a phone deposit bill works the same way at any Pay by Mobile casino, regardless of the exact billing provider the site in question uses.

Most of the time, all you need to do is enter your phone number and how much you’d like the deposit. You’ll usually also be able to see any relevant payment fees.

Regardless, the steps below remain consistent whether you find Payforit, Siru Mobile, Fonix, Boku, or another mobile billing system.

Remember, this is a deposit-only method, and you can’t usually withdraw via Pay by Mobile.

How to Make a Pay by Mobile Casino Deposit

Your funds should either be added to your next phone bill if you’re on a contract, or deducted from your PAYG credit.

One thing worth knowing is that the payment option may appear under different names depending on the casino. You might see it listed as “Pay by Phone Bill”, “Carrier Billing”, “Phone Credit”, “Boku”, “Payforit”, or simply “Mobile”.

Depositing with Pay as You Go (PAYG)

PAYG (pay-as-you-go) players will have deposits taken directly from their mobile credit when using pay by phone credit UK options.

If you don’t have enough credit to cover the full amount, the transaction won’t go through – simple as that.

This actually gives you a solid level of control. You can’t deposit more than what’s loaded onto your phone, which naturally limits overspending when using deposit by phone bill UK casino methods.

From our testing, payments either go through in full or fail completely, there’s no partial charge, so you won’t get caught out.

It does add an extra step compared to card payments, as you’ll need to top up your credit first. But for many players using pay by phone casinos, that added friction is actually a benefit

Depositing with a Monthly Phone Contract

Contract players using pay by phone credit UK options will have deposits added to their monthly bill, rather than taken instantly.

When using deposit by phone bill UK casino methods, each transaction shows up at the end of your billing cycle, alongside data used and call minutes.

It’s convenient, but requires more awareness, especially as smaller deposits at Pay by Phone casinos can add up over time, which can lead to an unpleasant shock with a higher-than-expected if you’re not keeping track.

A simple habit like tracking deposits or checking your network app regularly can make a big difference. Most providers show real-time spending, so you can keep tabs on pay by mobile casinos activity before your bill arrives.

Can I Withdraw With Pay by Mobile Casinos?

The short answer is no.

This is because Pay by Mobile is a prepaid payment option that’s loaded with a chosen value, which is either taken out of your PAYG credit or your monthly phone bill.

This means that, usually, no reverse transactions can be completed, so, therefore, money can’t be sent back.

Most casinos will recommend you withdraw to a verified bank account, so make sure you have a backup option available, such as a nominated e-wallet or bank account.

To avoid any delays down the line, we recommend completing KYC checks ASAP after you’ve signed up, as the casino will need to confirm that the funds are going to the same account holder.

Pay by Phone Casino Bonuses and Promos

The first thing most players are interested in when they sign up to a new casino site is, of course, the casino bonuses.

With Pay by Phone casinos UK, it’s important to be aware that bonus eligibility can vary dramatically, depending on the operator.

Some UK Pay by Phone casinos treat mobile billing deposits identically to card payments, while others impose payment restrictions or exclusions.

That’s why it’s important to check bonus terms before depositing to avoid disappointment – which is the main reason why we trawl through those long T&Cs so you don’t have to.

If you want to play at a PaybyPhone casino and claim a bonus, here’s what you can expect to find.

Welcome Bonuses

This is the first type of casino bonus new users will come across, and the main way PaybyPhone casinos compete to attract sign-ups. This are usually attractive offers like deposit matches, free spins, or both.

Deposit Matches

These offers will match your first (or first few) deposits up to a certain value, often doubling them. For example, you can get 100% (up to £100), where you can deposit £100, get £100 in bonus funds, for a total of £200.

Free Spins

You’ll usually find free spins advertised on popular slots, like Big Bass Splash. For making your first deposit, the casino will give you a number of free spins on a specific slot or selection of games.

No-Wagering Bonuses

This bonus type is usually associated with free spins, where anything you win is credited as real, withdrawable cash with no wagering requirements. That means you can cash out immediately without playthrough hoops.

Cashback

You can earn money back on either losses or deposits within a certain period with cashback bonuses. More often than not, cashback comes with no wagering requirements, so you can withdraw ASAP.

Pay by Phone Bill UK Casino No Deposit Options

It’s entirely possible to find a UK casino that combines pay-by-mobile deposits with no-deposit bonuses, but it’s important to note that the two aren’t exactly the same thing.

As this page has already established, a pay by phone casino lets you deposit using your mobile phone bill or PAYG credit, while a no-deposit casino bonus gives you free spins for free, just for signing up.

Put plainly, you don’t need to use your phone bill to claim a no-deposit offer.

No-deposit bonuses usually require debit card verification before releasing a bonus, as part of identity checks and anti-fraud compliance, but no money will be taken in this process.

If you’re specifically looking for a mobile casino that lets you play with phone credit without making a deposit, check the bonus terms carefully. Pay-by-mobile deposits and no-deposit bonuses are separate features, and a casino may offer one without offering the other.

No-deposit promotions can come with restrictions like wagering requirements (no more than 10x) maximum win caps, eligible games, and expiry periods – always check thoroughly before claiming anything.

If you’re after free spins without a deposit, we’ve collected the latest offers separately on our dedicated no deposit casino bonuses page.

Pros and Cons of Pay by Mobile Casinos

No casino payment method is perfect, and Pay by Mobile is no different.

While it has many benefits, like ease of use, budgeting, and complete privacy from the casino, it does have some notable disadvantages compared to more mainstream methods like Visa or Mastercard.

The most notable of which is the fact that there are no withdrawals using Pay by Phone methods.

We think it’s important for you to weigh up both the pros and cons before deciding if a Pay by Mobile casino is right for you.

Responsible Gambling with Pay by Mobile Casinos

One advantage of Pay by Phone credit UK and deposit by phone bill UK casino options is the built-in limits, allowing for easier budgeting.

Most Pay by Mobile casinos have strict caps, usually around £10-£30 per day, enforced by providers like Boku, Fonix, and Payforit, with these limits encourage smaller, controlled deposits and stop overspending.

All casinos licensed by the UK Gambling Commission must also provide responsible gambling tools on-site, including:

• Deposit Limits: Set caps on how much you can deposit daily, weekly, or monthly.
• Reality Checks: Get reminders of how long you’ve been playing.
• Time-Outs: Take a short break from the casino.
• Self-Exclusion: Block access to the casino entirely, or all UKGC-licensed casinos via GAMSTOP.

On all of these PaybyPhone casinos, you’ll also find links to support organisations like GamCare and GambleAware, offering free, confidential advice.

If gambling ever stops being fun, take a step back and seek help. Our Responsible Gambling page also has additional resources and information, should you need it.

Expert Tips

Track Spending Carefully

If you’re billing deposits to your phone plan, smaller payments can add up. Check your network app regularly to stay on top of your total, and implement blocks on “premium services” if needed.

Alternative Payment Methods to Pay by Mobile

Pay by mobile casinos are a great fit for more casual players who prefer quick, low-value deposits.

If you like the idea of controlled sessions and charging deposits to your phone to essentially “pay later” with your phone bill, it’s a solid option. If you’re a high-roller though, Pay by Mobile probably isn’t for you.

That said, it’s always worth having a backup.

Most Pay by Phone casinos don’t support withdrawals, so you’ll need an alternative payment method – like a debit card, bank transfer, or e-wallet – to cash out.

Many players using pay by phone bill casinos treat it as a deposit-only tool, then switch to another method for withdrawals.

We’ve listed some of the most popular UK payment methods below so you can compare and contrast them.

Final Thoughts on Pay by Mobile Casino Sites

There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to payment methods, but Pay by Phone casinos are a great fit for mobile-first players and budget-conscious users who want more control over their spending, with built-in daily limits.

The appeal of deposit by phone bill casinos is clear: instant deposits and no financial information shared – just your phone number – making it a great private and secure option.

That said, Pay by Phone casinos won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. They don’t typically support withdrawals, so you’ll need a second payment method to cash out your winnings, and usually come with fees.

If you’re looking for mobile-friendly options beyond Pay by Phone casinos, check out our complete guide to casino apps, where the two go hand-in-hand, all rated by the FruityMeter and tested by our team.
