Editorial Policy

We believe transparency about our editorial process is just as important as the reviews themselves. It’s why you can trust what we write, and it’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every guide, review and comparison we publish. This page sets out how our content gets made, who’s behind it, and why commercial relationships never touch our ratings.

Our Editorial Standards

Fruity Slots is committed to publishing accurate, honest, and useful content for UK casino and slot players.

Every piece of content on our site is created by our in-house editorial team, fact-checked before publication, and reviewed on an ongoing basis.

We hold ourselves to three core standards:

  • Accuracy – all claims are verified through real-money testing, direct research, or official sources such as the UKGC public register
  • Honesty – we report what we find, including negatives. If a casino has slow withdrawals or poor support, we say so
  • Independence – commercial relationships don’t influence our ratings, rankings, or review conclusions

Our co-founders, Jamie Rosen and Josh Green, have a combined 38 years of iGaming experience, including senior roles at William Hill and 888.

The rest of our team have hands-on experience as players, giving us a unique insight to write our reviews. Our combined experiences inform how we evaluate casinos and slots.

Who’s Behind Fruity Slots

Fruity Slots was founded in 2014 by Jamie Rosen and Josh Green, who between them bring 38 years of iGaming experience from senior roles at William Hill and 888. Fruity Slots is owned and operated by BetUp Media Ltd (company number 09003066), registered at 64 New Cavendish Street, London, England, W1G 8TB.

The rest of the editorial team also have deep experience in the industry from both a recreational and professional point of view. They spend time playing the games and testing the casinos to help inform the content of their reviews.

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, linked to their author page so you can see their background and expertise. We don’t publish ghostwritten content. You can find out more on our About Us page.

How We Review Casinos

Casino reviews are built on the FruityMeter scoring system, our 12-category rating framework. A score of 8.5+ marks a casino as excellent.

Every casino we review goes through the same structured testing process:

  1. UKGC licence verification via the public register
  2. Real-money deposit (minimum £10, testing at least two payment methods)
  3. Gameplay testing across a minimum of five games
  4. Real withdrawal request with documented processing times
  5. Customer support contact to assess response quality

To date, our team has completed over 5,000 hours of hands-on testing across 350+ casinos.

Our slot reviews follow a similar approach: direct gameplay, assessed on mechanics, bonus features, and volatility behaviour.

The opinions expressed in our slot reviews are completely our own, and aren’t influenced by external factors or professional relationships.

Editorial Independence

Fruity Slots earns commission when readers sign up through our links, and you can see exactly how that works on our Advertiser Disclosure page. However, this does not influence our FruityMeter scores or rankings on each page.

In practice, this means:

  • Affiliate managers are not involved in editorial decisions
  • All editorial decisions are made by writers and reviewed by management
  • Rankings are determined by the FruityMeter scoring system
  • Commercial partners can’t pay for higher placement or ratings

In certain cases, promotional visibility may be adjusted where a partner chooses not to actively market a specific offer.

This doesn’t affect the underlying FruityMeter score or review assessment. Casinos can’t pay to improve their rating or review outcome on Fruity Slots.

Corrections and Updates

Errors happen – we’re human, after all. When they do, we fix them promptly and transparently.

We catch most errors through our own testing, reader reports, or automated accuracy checks – we also use AI tools to help flag data that needs a second look.

Every correction is logged in our backend CMS and tracked through our CRM. Automated checks run daily and weekly to catch data drift, and manual fixes go out as soon as we spot a problem.

If you’ve found something that looks off or want to request a correction, email our editorial team at [email protected] or [email protected] and we’ll investigate ASAP.

Content Freshness

We review and update content on a regular schedule to make sure the information you see is current.

Every page displays a “Last verified” date. This tells you when the information was most recently checked.

If a casino changes its bonus terms, adds or removes payment methods, or faces regulatory action, we update the review immediately regardless of schedule.

AI Transparency

Fruity Slots uses AI tools to support parts of our editorial workflow. We believe in being upfront about this.

AI helps with:

  • Data verification and accuracy checks
  • Search data analysis on evergreen editorial pages
  • Supporting content formatting and structure

AI doesn’t:

  • Write casino reviews or make editorial judgements
  • Determine FruityMeter scores
  • Replace human testing or first-hand casino experience

All content is reviewed, edited, and approved by our human editorial team before publication. Where AI search data is referenced on evergreen editorial pages, this is disclosed.
