Where we were hoping to see a real-life unicorn, we’re having to settle for banana-ostriches, squirrel-goats, & bucket-cows.
Bizarre certainly lives up to its title, but will it continue to meet our expectations? In Bizarre, you will find several quirky features, with the xSplit mechanic being among them. With a fixed RTP of 96.06% and a high (10/10) volatility score, this game can produce wins worth 20,000x your bet.

Base Game & Features
Bizarre is the latest high-volatility release from Nolimit City, featuring 5 reels, 4 rows, and 20 fixed pay lines. A winning combination occurs when 3, 4, or 5 identical symbols land on adjacent reels, on connecting pay lines, starting from reel 1.
Throughout gameplay, up to 5 high-paying (animal) symbols can appear on the reels, with the highest-paying symbol highlighted by a Gold Frame. Other symbols include A, K, Q, J, & 10 card ranks. After a win is confirmed, a fixed payout between 0.15x and 44x your bet is awarded.
In addition, Wild symbols are available on all reels, substituting for all symbols when participating in a winning combination. Wilds reveal a Multiplier of x1, which can be increased via xSplit symbols. Lastly, Scatter symbols can only appear on reels 2, 3, & 4 in the base game.
xSplit
During a game session, xSplit symbols are designated to reels 1 & 5 only, appearing as a single or stacked symbol, either partially or fully in view. Once in view, it will split all symbols on the same row, doubling the number of instances, except for itself. After it splits, it will act as a Wild symbol.
Bizarre Free Spins
When 3 Scatters land on reels 2, 3, & 4 in the base game, the Chimera Free Spins Bonus triggers, awarding 3 Free Spins. Before the feature begins, reels 2, 3, & 4 will spin individually, revealing Wilds, Extra Spins, or Blanks. This continues until no Extra Spins or Wilds appear.
If a Wild symbol appears, it will remain persistent on the reels until the end of the feature. Alternatively, if an Extra Spin symbol appears in view, its number is added to the remaining Free Spins. Having a Wild symbol split by an xSplit symbol will award a random Multiplier, which also persists until the end of the feature.
Super Chimera Spins
Alternatively, landing 2 Scatters & 1 Super Scatter in the base game triggers the Super Chimera Spins Bonus, awarding 3 Super Free Spins. In addition to the features from Chimera Spins, all Scatter symbols will transform into Wild symbols, which persist until the end of the feature.
Extra Spin
At the end of Chimera/Super Chimera Spins, players may be allowed to purchase an Extra Spin for an additional cost, determined by the number of active Wild Multipliers. If the Extra Spin is less than or equal to the total win of the session, the Extra Spin option will be granted.
During the Extra Spin, the previous setup of Wild symbols, along with Multipliers, is continued.

Bizarre has a maximum win potential of 20,000x your bet. If a single session exceeds this figure, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Coinage
Accessible through the Bonus Buy tab, players can participate in the Coinage Feature for an additional 200x their bet. In this feature, the matrix is stripped of paytable symbols, leaving only Coins, Scatters, Super Scatters, xSplit, & Collector symbols in play.
- Coins: Reveal values between 1x and 1,000x your bet
- Scatters: Are held in their current position for any subsequent Respins, including Super Scatters. If 3 Scatter/Super Scatters appear, the corresponding Free Spins mode is awarded after the feature ends.
- Collector: Gathers the values of all Coin symbols in view, causing another Respin to occur. When an additional respin triggers, the Collector symbol remains in its current position. If another Collector symbol hits further along, it will also collect the value of previous Collector symbols.

Our Honest Verdict
Just as other software developers are preparing to debut their annual Christmas-themed slot, Nolimit City goes against the grain in their latest release, Bizarre. Instead of the blissful sounds of jingle bells, our ears are met by the roaring of chainsaws and cries of traumatised animals as they become the latest creations in Dr Bizarre’s lab.
It turns out, Bizarre really did live up to its title. It’s definitely a twisted & disturbing addition to Nolimit City’s portfolio, but not in the usual sense. There’s no denying how freakishly messed up Bizarre is, only there’s something artistically grotesque about it – an art form that has appeared in Shady Lady’s Orphan Organ, which offers the same amount of unsightliness.
The multiple xMechanics have become staple features in Nolimit City releases, but the only one of note here is the xSplit. Collectively, they have redefined the true meaning of innovation, while Nolimit City’s clever execution of such features guarantees their position within the iGaming industry…dare we say, the best slots provider out there.
While we still believe that to be true, there’s one provider that challenges this, and that’s Shady Lady. Bizarre isn’t Nolimit City’s finest hour, by any means, but it shows promising signs through its xSplit mechanic and daring theme; however, we feel it doesn’t quite make the top 10.
The game’s contents & features are easier to digest, which is great if you prefer simplicity; however, the only real difference between the two Free Spins modes is the number of Sticky Wilds available on the reels – a definite fine line between the two, indeed.
The saving grace comes in the form of the Coinage Feature; however, this is only accessible to those within Bonus Buy territory. Similar to Push Gaming’s Coin Feature, 200x your bet grants you a full grid of Coins, Scatters, Collectors, or xSplit symbols, but due to its lack of appearance during natural gameplay, Bizarre becomes a significantly watered-down slot for those in the UK.
All in all, Bizarre keeps to Nolimit City’s unusual thematics & features, but it’s not the most noteworthy release in their portfolio.
