Gameburger Studios’ Hyper Star MultiChase returns once more, bringing with it a familiar sparkle that we’ve come to expect from something with the word ‘hyper’ in its title.
Gameburger Studios released the original Hyper Star in 2021, and with it came a fairly charismatic character narrating the gameplay in the background. Hyper Star MultiChase looks to have stripped non-necessities down, leaving behind only gameplay to speak for itself.
On first glance, Hyper Star MultiChase looks like a far cry from its predecessor in terms of gameplay, too, opting for a Scatter Pays system instead of ways to win.
Hyper Star’s name in lights might not be enough to carry it to stardom, so hopefully its gameplay brings the dazzle.
Base Game & Features
Hyper Star MultiChase is a 6-reel slot with a Scatter Pays mechanic. Forming a win requires at least 8 of any symbol to be visible on screen at the same time. These winning symbols are then removed, leaving room for new symbols to fall into play via Gameburger’s Rolling Reels Feature.
If new winning combinations are formed, the feature triggers again and continues until no new winning combinations are formed.
Hyper Star MultiChase features nine regular symbols, with lower symbols composed of Fruit Icons which award 0.2x – 7x the bet, and premium horseshoe, bells, gold bars and lucky 7 symbols offering between 1x to 50x the bet.
MultiChase Rolling Multipliers
Symbols with 2x – 100x multipliers may appear on the reels.
These symbols remain until all Rolling Reels (Cascades) are completed for that spin. These multipliers may randomly increase during a spin.
During the base game, the multipliers are collected and applied to the total win after all cascades are concluded. In Free Spins, Multipliers are collected and added to a Free Spins multiplier and awarded after all cascades are concluded.
Rising Rewards Free Spins Multiplier
The Free Spins Multiplier is shown on a dedicated meter. During the base game, it increases by +1 whenever 3 Scatters land, up to a maximum of 20x.
In Free Spins, any Rolling Multipliers left on the reels after wins are collected and added to the Free Spins Multiplier. The updated total is then applied to the overall win for that spin.
The Free Spins Multiplier only applies when multipliers are collected and does not affect Scatter retrigger wins. There is no limit to how high it can climb during Free Spins.
After the feature ends, the multiplier resets to 1x, though it may occasionally restart at 2x, 3x, or 4x instead.

Scatter Symbols are represented by Diamond Symbols, and have a payout value depending on how many land.

Our Honest Verdict
Hyper Star MultiChase is a fine instalment if you’re looking for familiar gameplay. It’s quite reminiscent of Gates of Olympus from Pragmatic Play, a slot that seems to have caused a ripple effect across the industry.
It has a couple of cool extras, such as the ability to build up a Free Spins multiplier prior to triggering the round, and of course, the ability to hit multipliers in the base game. These together will tick some players over quite nicely, but for those seeking more, it lacks the requisite depth.
There’s nothing wrong with keeping it simple. As we’ve come to learn, simple ideas sometimes outperform more extravagant ideas. Some are stuck in their ways, and it’s easy to see why those people might pick a slot like Hyper Star MultiChase in favour of an outlandish, more volatile and more niche slot.
It’s got a reasonable 5,000x win cap and a respectable 96% RTP – the definition of average across the board. Average might be enough for you, and if it is, then Hyper Star MultiChase is a good choice.
We noted during our time playing it that Gameburger might have gotten a bit lazy with the little aspects that made the original Hyper Star great. In the original, there was a kind of smooth, larger-than-life Vegas showman narrating the action, a presence that is missing here. It’s the little things that can sometimes make a game, and we believe that the original was a bit better.
Regardless, it’s a praiseworthy slot, just not particularly noteworthy compared to others.
