It seems the King of Gods is looking a little more animal-like than usual, but could this be a new shapeshift form, or the mischievous work of Smokey Le Bandit? From robbing the Egyptians in Le Pharaoh to rocking rhinestones in Le King, our favourite sticky-fingered raccoon is causing divine chaos – not only is he stealing treasure, he’s stealing Zeus’ thunder.
Le Zeus marks the 5th instalment of an increasingly popular & ongoing series from Hacksaw Gaming. Each instalment takes us to a new era, and this time we find ourselves in the company of Greek Gods atop Mount Olympus.
While Smokey attempts to pull the wool over our eyes for a 5th time, we’ve cottoned on to his ways of deception and masterful skills, but will Le Zeus reveal new tricks we’ve not yet seen?
Hacksaw Gaming grants us the power of the Gods in this 6-reel Video Slot, offering a fixed RTP of 96.26% and a maximum win potential of 20,000x your bet. Players can enjoy a Mystery Reveal feature and up to 3 Free Spins modes, all of which utilise a Medium-High volatility rating.

Base Game & Features
Le Zeus is the 5th instalment to Hacksaw Gaming’s ‘Le’ series of games, featuring 6 reels, 5 rows, and 19 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are guaranteed when 3-6 identical symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1.
The highest-paying symbol falls to the Golden Helmet, awarding varying payouts between 3x and 100x your bet. The 9 remaining symbols, consisting of Greek icons and numerals, award further payouts between 2x and 3x your bet, where applicable.
Additionally, Wild symbols can appear on all reels and substitute for all symbols in the paytable. When creating a winning combination, Wild symbols reveal a payout of 200x your bet for 6-of-a-kind.
Lastly, FS Scatters are unable to land during the Bolt & Run, Myth-Taken Identity, & Gods Just Wanna Have Fun Free Spins modes.
Mystery Reveal
In the base game, Mystery symbols, in the form of Lightning Bolts, appear vertically adjacent on reels 2, 3, 4, or 5, revealing High-paying symbols, Wilds, or Mystery Reels.
If a Mystery symbol reveals High-paying symbols or Wilds that result in a win, a special Respin Feature is triggered, causing all revealed symbols to revert to Mystery symbols and lock into position.
At the end of the Respin, new symbols are revealed for a chance to create additional winning combinations. This continues until no new winning combinations occur as a result of the Respin, unless a Mystery Reel is awarded.
Mystery Reels occur when 1 or more Mystery symbols land within the same spin. Once active, each Mystery Reel position will spin to reveal Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, or Pots of Gold. Each Coin symbol will display a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Cash Prize:
- Bronze: 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x
- Silver: 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x
- Gold: 25x, 50x, 100x
Alternatively, Diamond symbols can reveal a random Cash Prize of 150x, 250x, & 500x your bet. Once all Coin and Diamond symbols are awarded, all available Clover symbols will activate, of which there are two instances.
Green Clovers will multiply all Coin symbols and existing Pots of Gold on adjacent positions with a Multiplier between x2 and x20. Otherwise, Gold Clovers will multiply all existing Coin and Pots of Gold symbols in view with a Multiplier between x2 and x20.
Once all Clover symbols have applied their Multipliers, the Pot of Gold symbols will initiate. The Pot of Gold will collect the value of all Coin, Diamond, & Pot of Gold symbols in view, storing their Total Win amount.
After collection, all other symbols in the Mystery Reels, excluding the Pot of Gold, will spin again to reveal new symbols, causing the process to repeat. At the end of the Mystery Reveal Feature, each symbol value will be added together and multiplied by your current bet to determine the outcome.
Le Zeus Free Spins
Triggering the Bolt & Run Free Spins mode requires 3 FS Scatters to land in the base game, awarding 8 Free Spins.
This mode maintains the same base game mechanics, while Mystery symbols become sticky on the reels. Lastly, the lowest pay value for all Coin symbols is set at 1x your bet.
Myth-Taken Identity
The next available Free Spins mode is Myth-Taken Identity, which triggers when 4 FS Scatters land in the base game, awarding 8 Free Spins.
This mode maintains the same base game mechanics while introducing a special Mystery Meter outside the grid. Each time a Mystery symbol hits, the Mystery Meter will increase by +1 step, up to a maximum of 25 steps.
When the Mystery Meter is filled, a special Reward Spin is triggered at the end of the current spin. During this spin, every position on the grid is covered by a Mystery Reel, where only Coins, Diamonds, Clover, & Pots of Gold symbols can hit.
During the initial Reward Spin, all Coin types can land. With each subsequent Reward Spin, the minimum Coin type increases by +1 step, leading to Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.
Once all reveals and activations from the Reward Spins are complete, the grid will reset, and the Mystery Meter will return to zero, while the new minimum Coin type will update for the next Reward Spin. The Mystery Meter will continue to fill and trigger until the end of the Free Spins feature.
Gods Just Wanna Have Fun
Finally, the Hidden Bonus, Gods Just Wanna Have Fun, triggers when 5 FS Scatters land within the base game, awarding 8 Free Spins.
Again, this mode maintains the same mechanics found in the Bolt & Run Free Spins mode, only reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 are filled with Mystery symbols from the start of the session.
In addition, low-paying symbols are unable to land, and the minimum Coin Prize is set at 5x your bet.
Featurespins & Bonus Buy
Players may purchase any of the following Featurespins & Bonus Buy options:
- Bonushunt Featurespins: Each spin is 5 times more likely to trigger a Free Spins mode or 3x your bet per spin (96.1%)

Le Zeus has a generous maximum win potential of 20,000x your bet. If a single game session exceeds this, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Our Honest Verdict
Getting himself in extremely sticky situations is Smokey’s area of expertise, but has he finally bitten off more than he can chew in Le Zeus? While the Greek Mythology theme is one we’ve encountered in hundreds of existing releases, it’s a first for our beloved Smokey Le Bandit.
In Le Zeus, Smokey has taken on the persona of Zeus himself, and although he looks adorable in Gold, Zeus is not very happy about him meddling in God-like affairs – what’s that burning smell, you say? Well, that’s just Smokey’s fur crisped from the bolt of lightning he just received…
Since the release of Le Bandit, Hacksaw Gaming has conjured up some clever themes for Smokey to appear in, while providing a resource of innovative mechanics and features. Each release is distinguishable from the others, which allows players to experience both a new setting and gameplay.
The Win to Win feature in the original release has been reintroduced under a new name throughout each instalment. While there are many noticeable differences between each version, the outcome always remains the same.
Le Zeus’ Mystery Reveal feature offers Bronze, Silver, & Gold Coins, as well as Clovers and Pot of Gold icons. The only difference here is that the reels do not require Golden Frames or Rainbows to activate them. Instead, Mystery symbols are responsible for the triggering of Mystery Reels, and the more you land, the bigger the overall potential.
In true Hacksaw fashion, the game holds up to 3 Free Spins modes, while only 2 of 3 are available for purchase through the Bonus Buy tab. If you’re hoping to see the Gods Just Wanna Have Fun mode in action, you’re gonna have to grind for it, but is it worth all the aggro? Absolutely, it is.
All in all, Le Zeus is a staple addition to the ‘Le’ series of games, but it stands pretty level with all others in the collection. The 20,000x max win potential tops the likes of Le Bandit and Le Pharaoh, but it’s along the same lines as Le King.
