Base Game & Features
Masked Mayhem is a 5-reel, 5-row Video Slot with a mid-high volatility score and 50 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations occur when 3, 4, or 5 identical symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1.
The highest-paying symbol falls to the Orange Fighter, followed by 2 additional Fighters, Tacos, Corn, Qacamole, and A, K, Q, & J card suits. When a win is conceived, a fixed payout between 0.1x and 15x your bet is awarded, where applicable.
Lastly, the Wild symbol, represented by a Skull, appears on all reel positions, substituting for all symbols except Instant Prize, Jackpot, & Scatter symbols.
Wild Zones & Instant Prizes
In the base game & Free Spins mode, Instant Prizes, represented by Pinatas, can appear on the reels with a random value between 0.2x and 1,000x your bet. Whenever an Instant Prize is in view, it can only be collected by an active Win Zone.
A Win Zone is a special Overlay Grid that can appear on the matrix in sizes 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5. When an Instant Prize appears within a Win Zone, its value is instantly paid out. This is the same for multiple Instant Prizes to appear within a Win Zone.
Masked Mayhem Free Spins
Triggering the Free Spins mode requires 3, 4, or 5 Scatters to land within the base game, awarding 6, 8, & 10 Free Spins, respectively.
The Free Spins mode is made up of 4 Levels, which progress as you collect Scatter symbols. Please note that the Free Spins mode always begins at Level 1. Each level achieved awards the following outcomes:
- Level 1: Awards a 2×2 Win Zone
- Level 2: Awards a 3×3 Win Zone, a x2 Multiplier, and +4 Free Spins
- Level 3: Awards a 4×4 Win Zone, a x3 Multiplier, and +3 Free Spins

Throughout Free Spins, the active Win Zone remains on the matrix, moving towards each Scatter symbol that appears in view, starting with the closest first. Furthermore, all Cash & Jackpot Prizes that fall within the Win Zone are paid out.
Jackpot Prizes & Second Chance
There are 5 Jackpot Prizes up for grabs – these include:
- Mini: 10x your bet (2 Peppers)

Please note that the individual Jackpot Prizes are only paid out when enough Pepper Icons have been collected towards them. Once a Jackpot Prize has been awarded, its respective Pepper Meter will reset.
Occasionally, when there are mostly Dud symbols in view, a Second Chance feature may trigger. Once active, 1 or 2 Dud symbols will transform into Scatters (outside the Win Zone).

Our Honest Verdict
Given the upcoming festivities, we automatically assumed that Masked Mayhem was going to fall under the Halloween category of games. Little did we know, we were going to be brushing up on our wrestling skills in a fight for victory and big wins.
Masked Mayhem reveals Push Gaming’s signature aesthetics, quality graphics, and impressive soundscapes. Amongst all the sweat and bursts of colour, Push Gaming has thrown a new feature into the ring – the Win Zone, followed up by the Chase Mechanic.
In the base game, a random 2×2 to 5×5 Win Zone can plant itself on the reels, causing all Cash Prizes within it to be instantly awarded. Although not identical to the Net or Seaweed Feature found in Fish ‘n’ Nudge and Razor Shark, it behaves in a very similar manner.
Having one of the smaller-sized Win Zones active is great, but it’s nothing compared to the magnetism and excitement of a full 5×5 Win Zone, which literally shakes the matrix to its core before it appears. Ideally, when this happens, you want to have a fair amount of Instant or Jackpot Prizes in view to have a real impact on potential.
Things progress from good to great in the Free Spins mode, where gameplay similar to the iconic Fat Rabbit & Fat Banker is apparent. The mode begins with a Level 1 Win Zone, which quickly progresses through the individual sizes for every 4 Scatter symbols collected.
Regardless of its size, the Win Zone will move from left to right & top to bottom, collecting each Special Symbol in its path, including individual Jackpot Pepper Icons. Each upgrade awards a new Multiplier and additional Free Spins, whilst maintaining the current collection of Jackpot Peppers.
While we can’t help but feel Push Gaming has lost some of its spark, this release feels like the start of something truly great, like the good old days of Jammin’ Jars and the original Wild Swarm.
Underneath its vibrant exterior lies a respectable set of statistics, including a fixed RTP of 96.29% and a maximum win potential of 10,231x your bet. All in all, Masked Mayhem isn’t Push Gaming’s best work, but it puts a charismatic spin on some of our favourite features and mechanics from iconic classics.
