Let’s have a look.

Towering Fortunes Base Game

Towering Fortunes Base Game and Features

Towering Fortunes is a 5 reel slot with 20 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other betting options in between the two. Towering Fortunes has a theoretical RTP of 96.50% and a max win capacity of 6,422x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is the Lady, followed by the Airplane, Boat, Car and Whiskey Glass. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen and Jack.

There is also a Wild symbol present which substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols in the paytable. During gameplay, you will come across Mystery symbols in the form of Gold Briefcases. Whenever mystery symbols land, they will reveal the same High or Low-paying symbol from the paytable.

Other than Mystery symbols, Pragmatic Play has chosen to keep the base game relatively simple. Some of you may find this appealing whilst others may not.

Towering Fortunes Mystery Symbols

Towering Fortunes Hold & Spin

Landing 3 or more Money symbols across the reels triggers the Hold & Spin Bonus round.

During this round, the reel set transforms into an 11×5 Grid and all High and Low-paying symbols are removed, leaving only Money symbols and Blanks in play.

After each Respin, all new Money symbols that land will remain fixed in their position for the duration of this round, stacking on top of existing Money symbols.

After 3 consecutive Respins without any additional Money symbols landing on a particular reel, it will become Blocked and no more Respins will happen on it.

Above each reel sits a Multiplier. The multiplier will increase as the stack of Money symbols on a reel gets higher.

  • 5 or less Money symbols – No Multiplier
  • 6 Money symbols – Awards a Multiplier of x2.
  • 7 Money symbols – Awards a Multiplier of x5.
  • 8 Money symbols – Awards a Multiplier of x10.
  • 9 Money symbols – Awards a Multiplier of x20.
  • 10 Money symbols – Awards a Multiplier of x30.
  • 11 Money symbols – Awards a Multiplier of x100.

The Hold & Spin round will end when al 5 reels are blocked or no more Respins are remaining. At the end of the round, all Money values in view will be multiplied by their respective reel Multiplier, added together and paid.

Towering Fortunes: Our Verdict

Towering Fortunes may have all the luxury items that come with wealth on display, but the game itself looks a little more vintage than we had imagined with graphics that wouldn’t look out of place if it was released a few years ago. There’s nothing wrong with the classic look by all means, but for a game that is all about wealth, it could have done with a little more glitz and glam in our opinion…on the reels at least, the background looks top notch.

Moving onto gameplay…Even with Mystery symbols to contend with, the base game was a little dry for our taste. Some of you may appreciate the simplicity here, but for players who live for the thrill of multiple features and modifiers, Towering Fortunes may not be the right choice for you.

Although the Bonus round is Hold & Spin, Pragmatic Play has put their own clever spin on it so to speak. The potential is definitely greater here thanks to the individual reel Multipliers, but try not to blink or you will miss the entire Bonus.

The potential here looks slightly better than the Pragmatic norm at 6,422x, which could in itself make it more viable than many Pragmatic options

All in all, Towering Fortunes isn’t a stand-out title, and we don’t think it has much longevity. It’s worth a go and it may reel in some fans, but don’t expect it to top the lists of any players.
