Wild West Duels Base Game and Features

Wild West Duels is a 5 reel slot with 15 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Wild West Duels has a theoretical RTP of 96.00% and a max win cap of 20,000x.

In terms of symbols, all High-paying symbols fall a group of Characters. The Character with the Blue background has the highest pay value, followed by Characters with the Green, Pink, Brown and Teal backgrounds. Low-paying symbols fall to the Sheriff Hat, Boots, Flask, Bandana and Wanted Poster.

Expanding Wilds with Multiplier

Wilds in the form of Money Bags are present on all reels, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters.

During the base game and Duel Bonus, Wilds can randomly expand to fill the entire reel they are on, revealing a random Multiplier between x2 and x100. Expansions only occur if it would result in a win.

Wild West Duels Free Spins

Pragmatic has switched things up a bit by introducing 3 Free Spins rounds that can be triggered during the base game. Landing 3 matching Scatters will trigger the Beer Game, Duel or Lost Relics Free Spins round, depending on which Scatters land.

Beer Game

Triggering the Beer Game bonus round will award 10 Free Spins.

During this round, any Wild symbol that lands in view will reveal a random Multiplier value of x2 or x3, and will remain fixed in its position for the duration of the round.

Multipliers will be applied to all wins that connect with Wilds. If more than 1 Wild is part of the same winning combination, their Multipliers will be added together and applied.

The Expanding Wild feature is not available during this round, and this bonus round cannot be retriggered.

Duel

Triggering the Duel bonus round will award 10 Free Spins.

During this round, the Expanding Wild feature is active. At least 1 Wild symbol is guaranteed to land in a random position across the reels with every Free Spin, with the possibility of Expanding.

The Duel bonus cannot be retriggered.

Lost Relics

Triggering the Lost Relics bonus will award 3 Free Spins.

Before the round begins, a special Grid with 25 Shovels is presented. Pick up to 9 Shovels in order to receive a random number of guaranteed Wilds of 1, 2, 3 or 5, and Multiplers of x1, x2, x3 or x5 for this round.

With every Free Spin during this round, a random number of Wild symbols is guaranteed to land across the reels, equal to the number recieved at the start of the round. Each win is then multiplied by the total win Multiplier awarded at the start.

Wild West Duels: Our Verdict

There’s nothing more exciting that a good old fashioned Wild West duel, but was it quite as entertaining as we had hoped?

The Wild West is a pretty common theme for slots and it’s not the first time Pragmatic Play has dabbled in it. Although this is the case here, Pragmatic Play has done it justice via gameplay.

At first glance, you would assume that Wild West Duels is a Scatter Pays slot given the layout of the reel set, but they’ve opted for 15 paylines instead. Don’t let that put you off though, as Wild West Duels has plenty to off players.

The Expanding Wilds feature is not entirely new to us, but it makes for interesting gameplay and keeps you busy whilst you wait for 1 of the 3 exciting Free Spins rounds to land.

All 3 Free Spins rounds offer up something different, but they all share the same excitement and potential. The Beer Game bonus round feels a little like Wild West Gold Megaways but with bigger potential.
