If you haven’t already put 2 and 2 together, Wild Wild Bananas is a carry on from Pragmatic Play’s previous title Wild Wild Riches, which graced our screens back in 2020.

Stepping away from the Irish theme, Pragmatic Play has gone banana mad in their latest ‘Wild Wild’ slot, but is gameplay as a-peel-ing as it was in Wild Wild Riches?

Wild Wild Bananas Base Game and Features

Wild Wild Bananas is a 5 reel slot with 576 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.25 (£/€0.30 Ante Bet) per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 (£/€120 Ante Bet) per spin, with plenty of other options inbetween the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.10% and a max win cap of 12,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is the Girl, followed by the Monkey, Toucan, Snake and Flower. Low-paying symbols fall to Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds.

There is also a Wild symbol present on reels 1 and 2 only. Wilds subsitute for all other symbols except Scatter and Money symbols.

Ante Bet

Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Ante Bet feature. Choosing to activate this feature will increase your current bet by 20%, to 30x bet per line. (RTP 96.15%)

With the Ante Bet feature active, the chances of landing 2 Wilds (1 on each of reels 1 and 2) will increase, thus increasing your chances of triggering the Free Spins round or Money Collect Feature.

Money Collect Feature

During the base game, Banana symbols with Cash values between 1x and 25x your bet will appear across reels 3, 4 and 5.

Each time a Wild symbol lands on reels 1 and 2 alongside adjacent Banana symbols, the total value of all connecting Banana symbols is awarded.

In addition to this, 3 Jackpot Prizes known as Mini, Major and Mega can also be won during this time. Each Jackpot will award the following Prize.

• Mini – Awards 50x your current bet.
• Major – Awards 100x your current bet.
• Mega – Awards 500x your current bet.

Wild Wild Bananas Free Spins

Triggering the Free Spins round will require 2 Wild symbols (1 on each of reels 1 and 2) and a Bonus Scatter to land on reel 3. Once triggered, you will be awarded 10 Free Spins.

During Free Spins, the Money Collect Feature is in play, and more Wilds and Banana symbols are present on the reels.

Also in play during this time is the Golden Money symbol. Whenenver a Golden Money symbol lands, the number of possible symbols for that reel increases by +1 for the duration of the Free Spins round, up to a maximum of 8 symbols per reel. 

If a Golden Money symbol lands on a reel that already has 8 symbols, an additional +5, +6, +7, +8, +9 or +10 Free Spins is awarded at random. Retriggers can only happen once per reel, and after this, Golden Money symbols will not appear on the reels.

Wild Wild Bananas: Our Verdict

Wild Wild Bananas looks kind of familiar, right? Of course, it’s pretty much a reskin of an earlier release by the same provider, Wild Wild Riches. Wild Wild Riches was a rather underestimated Irish Gem with the potential to pay big if the values aligned all the way from left to right with Wild Symbols to activate them, and it’s pretty much the same s tory here in Wild Wild Bananas. Of course, the theme is completely different with a tropical paradise and a few cheeky monkeys instead of pots of gold and Irish charm, but there’s not much else to report in terms of changes.

Some might prefer Wild Wild Bananss because of its more imaginative theme, but if you didn’t like the older game then you may well find yourself unimpressed with this one too. However, winning potential would suggest that Wild Wild Banans is a much more capable slot with up to 12,000x as a maximum win. This is far more than Wild Wild Riches’ humble 4,600x, so its definitely worth the switch on this alone even if you did prefer the Irish look.

Overall, it’s a fresh look at an older game, and it’s nice to revisit a game that was surprisingly entertaining. It does enough on statistics alone to make it stand out as a superior choice to its Irish sister slot.
