Rich Wilde and the Tome of Insanity Base Game & Features
Rich Wilde and the Tome of Insanity is a 5×5 Video Slot, playable from £.€0.10 per spin, up to a maximum bet limit of £.€100 per spin. This game includes 4 High and Low-paying symbols, with the highest-paying awarding wins between 2x and 100x your bet. Low-paying symbols fall to Purple, Red, Blue, and Green Gems. Book Wilds substitute for all paytable symbols.
Wins are achieved when 4-10+ matching symbols land adjacent to one another through a Cluster Pays mechanic. Generated wins are removed from the grid via an Avalanche feature. This continues until no more wins are present on the grid.

Multiplier & Yog-Sothoth Wilds
Rich Wilde symbols can deliver Multipliers of x2, x3, x4, and x5 in the base game, and Multipliers of x2, x3, x5, and x10 during the bonus. When more than one Multiplier Wild is active in a winning cluster, only the highest value is applied to wins. Yog-Sothoth symbols are special 2×2 Wilds that walk up to 3 times around the grid.
All-Seeing Eyes
During a game round, an All-Seeing Eye may appear in a random grid position. During the Damnation Free Spin, up to 12 normal and 6 special All-Seeing Eyes appear.
In the base game, the All-Seeing Eye will only activate when a winning cluster forms on top of it. Once active, the All-Seeing Eye will allocate 2-4 Book Wilds in random grid positions.
During Damnation Free Spin, opening each All-Seeing Eyes will summon the Yog-Sothoth Wild, while adding 4, 5, or 6 special eyes with a x2, x3, or x4 Multiplier.
Portal
In the top left of the main grid sits a special Portal meter. All winning clusters in a game round will charge the Portal meter, potentially activating 1 of 4 Portal functions.
- Ruin – Requires 8 charges to activate. This function awards 2-4 Book Wilds.
- Harvest – Requires 16 charges to activate. This function awards an additional 2-4 Book Wilds. Harvest aims for positions 2 symbols away in all diagonal directions, and positions 3 symbols away in all horizontal and diagonal directions.
- Abomination – Requires 30 charges to activate. This function awards an additional 2-4 Book Wilds. Abomination upgrades a Low-paying symbol to a Higher-paying symbol.
- Damnation – The final stage requires 48 charges to activate. This awards 1 Damnation Free Spin.
Damnation Free Spin
Once all 48 charges are reached, a Damnation Free Spin will activate, with 3 guaranteed Portal functions. However, the Portal can be overcharged to award an additional portal function every +4 winning symbols, up to a maximum of 7.
During this time, 1 portal function will trigger on a non-winning spin until all functions are used. The Damnation Free Spin will conclude when all portal functions have been used.

Conclusion
It’s great to see the return of our beloved Rich Wilde, who happens to age like fine wine, by the way, but did the ‘Tome series age just as well? Rich Wilde and the Tome of Insanity presents an intriguing journey into the depths of darkness and mystery. With its engaging gameplay mechanics and thematic elements, it offers players a familiar yet distinct experience
Comparisons to its predecessor, Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness, are inevitable and even expected. While both titles share similarities in theme and character, Tome of Insanity introduces new features and mechanics. The inclusion of Yog-Sothoth Wilds, All-Seeing Eyes, and the Portal feature adds layers of complexity, yet it’s certainly not a different monster from its predecessor in our opinion.
It’s nice to see another Rich Wilde Game – and while not a smash hit it is one of Play’n GO’s more innovative titles, which we certainly appreciate.
