Q&A with Kalamba Games!

In this Q&A we spoke to Piotr Simon, Product Owner at Kalamba Games!

Your 2023 roadmap was recently updated with five-hit games included in your release schedule, could you tell us more about what players have to look forward to from Kalamba?

We have a packed lineup of highly anticipated releases for players to get excited about and enjoy. This plethora of high-quality launches began with the release of Lightning Fortune at the end of May which was adored by players and will be quickly followed by numerous other hit titles.

Going into June we have three huge games launching making it one of our busiest times ever at Kalamba! This is reflective of the increasing surge of player interest in our slots and the commercial growth we have sustained in recent years and is a testament to our amazing content. We begin by travelling to Asia for Megaways™ Bushido Princess, our first release in June which builds upon the numerous Megaways™ hits we have found success with.

This will be quickly followed by a Viking-inspired adventure in Heimdall’s Gate. We will be rounding off the month with a spooky release in Wilds From The Crypt. In addition to all of these titles, we also have our interpretation of a crash game that will of course have a Kalamba twist attached to it boasting a distinct nautical theme which is set to dive to the depths of the ocean in July.

Can you tell us more about your new release Megaways Bushido Princess?

Wild reels hold the key to unlocking Megaways Bushido Princess’ huge max win of 30,000x! The slot is played across five reels which are home to ever-changing ways thanks to the popular Megaways™ mechanic. Symbols such as fans, katanas and shuriken along with other Asian-inspired icons adorn the reels. Wilds are also present substituting for all other base game symbols and help the player in unlocking wins. These wilds also increase players’ win potential by expanding and when triggered, becoming a wild multiplier reel and initiating a respin mechanic. This respin can be retriggered by landing additional wild reels with each spin further increasing the wild reel’s multiplier value.  In addition to all this excitement wilds also collect any K-Cash instant win prizes on the game board increasing the thrills present in the base game.

Hyperbet will allow players to control which bonus they will gain access to along with the slot having multiple different bonus buy options available. This empowers player choice and allows you to enjoy the title in your way. The free spins are awarded for landing just two scatters on reels one and five in the base game. This unlocks either six or eight free spins depending on the player’s Hyperbet choice. In the bonus, each wild reel triggered awards three extra spins while the wild reel is present allowing more opportunity to land additional ones, collect K-Cash instant prizes and create even more wins. All of this while the multiplier attached to the wild reel continually increases! Megaways Bushido Princess is packed full of mechanics and features that work in tandem with each other to elevate the playing experience.

You mentioned this release will be followed by Heimdall’s Gate and Wilds From The Crypt, what can players expect from these titles?

Heimdall’s Gate will have players journeying through the Bifrost to find the mighty Asgardian Heimdall. The Viking aesthetic has been carefully crafted and adorns the 6×4 reels and 4096 ways the slot is played across. Intrepid adventurers from Midgard can collect sword and horn bonus symbols to trigger free spins with multipliers that boost the winning potential for players.

Wilds From The Crypt in contrast to this is focused on building features. Each 10 spins players can collect up to nine potions with every three awarding an expanding multiplier wild before triggering on the tenth spin and being reset. In the bonus, this accumulation of features is built upon with sticky wilds being present throughout the bonus. The multiplier present on the wilds increases by 1x for each subsequent spin! All of this action takes place within a gothic theme adding a new style of slot to our vast portfolio.

After these releases what else do you have in store throughout the year?

Outside of game launches, we will also focus on our Cash Drops mechanic, which rewards players for engaging with our titles via cash prizes split into three incrementally increasing prizes. If you aren’t lucky enough to land a big win within one of our slots, you may win one of our cash drop prizes merely from playing one of our games. Further ahead, we’re also looking at introducing some great games featuring Hold ‘n’ Win mechanics towards the end of the year and, of course, expanding where we can be found.
