The illustration for 123 Boom Slot shows us an overhead view of two ships engaged in battle. Things are a little quiet audio-wise, but they pick up with a little bit of a battle tune, complete with the sound of cannonballs firing away.

The Base game and Features

123 Boom Slot see’s the return of 4ThePlayer’s selectable Slot Slider spin modes.

The game may be played in two modes, Side Spin or Top Spin. Wins are formed using a ways to win mechanic in this game, so in Side Spins, wins will pay from left to right, and in Top Spin, it will pay top to bottom.

Pay-outs are unchanged in these two modes, so there’s no benefit of one over the other, so it’s your preference.

It’s strange both ways, because you don’t expect to be looking for symbols to connect from top to bottom in Top spin and Reels in Side Spin roll left rather than downwards.

Still, it’s something different, and it isn’t too hard to get used to once you get used to it.

Explosive Wins

Symbols that form wins will explode and will be removed from the reels. All symbols that are removed are then replaced by new ones, which gives the game the possibility to hit more than once off a single spin.

Sliding Cannonball Wild Feature

If there are no wins in view, then any Cannonball Wilds that are present on the reel will start sliding in the direction of the spin. These will destroy symbols in front of them, and will continue until it reaches a position that connects a win or it reaches the end of the reel.

Free Spins

3 or more Cannon Bonus Scatter Symbols will trigger the Casino Bonus.

Each Scatter that triggered the bonus will be removed from the reel and will store themselves above the reels to be used.

The multiplier in 123 Boom Slot Free Spins will start at 2x, and the collected Cannonballs will fire onto the first reel position, and move as per the Sliding Cannonball Feature. Once connected to a win, these will explode and increase the multiplier by one.

The next collected Scatter will do the same thing until there are none left. Collecting additional Scatter Symbols in the bonus will re-fill the Cannon.

An ideal situation in the Bonus would be to land extra when you trigger the bonus, and more within Free Spins itself to keep re-filling the cannons which will eventually raise the multiplier.

Our Verdict

4ThePlayer seem to be intent on making things stand out from the norm, and it really shows yet again in 123 Boom Slot.

It’s a little confusing at first, but that’s only because it’s an unconventional way to play with the Slot Slider Spin modes, but you get used to it fairly quickly, and the option to change between the two is a nice touch.

Some of the features may not be exactly innovative, in terms of things like Cascading Reels, but with the addition of Sliding Cannonball Wilds you’ll find that it feels a lot different, and it can produce a nice chain of hits at the same time.

123 Boom Slot has some great potential, with a maximum win possible of 14,727x.
