Many of us remember our first virtual venture up Mount Everest with 9k Yeti 2019, and now we’re pleased to say that we’re facing the blistering cold once more in a new and improved sequel, 90k Yeti Gigablox!
The name of the original slot was indicative of its win potential with it’s 9,000x win potential, and the same can be said for 90k Yeti with a whopping 90,000x win potential oweing to new and improved features to make it all possible, like Yggdrasil‘s incredible Gigablox feature.
4ThePlayer are quite good at doing something a little bit different with their slots. 12 Trojan Mysteries, 10x Rewind, 3 Secret Cities and many more are proof of their innovative ability. Let’s hope 90k Yeti follows the same trend!
90k yeti is unmistakably a new and improved Yeti instalment!
In terms of visuals, 90k Yeti gives you a much broader picture of the backdrop, and now the Yeti even stands beside the reels looking absolutely ripped and terrifying all at once. Definitely don’t get on this Yeti’s bad side.
In terms of sound, 90k yeti is pretty much identical to 9k yeti with the somewhat eerie sounds of windchimes and subtle music. 4ThePlayer like to get seasonal with their games too, especially when it comes to the Yeti. Look out for him around the holidays and you’ll see the Yeti embodying the Christmas spirit with a Santa Hat! A very small touch on the design aspect, but it says a lot about how 4ThePlayer like to make their games fun
The prerequisites to climb everest are quite strict, but that definitely isn’t the case in 90k Yeti. Anyone can get involved here with betting options that range from as low as £/€0.10 per spin and as high as £/€10 per spin! There’s plenty of options in between too, so there’s no shortage of options.
In terms of symbols, our main man the Yeti is the highest paying symbol in the game. Following on from the Yeti is the climbers who are more or less equal in value, and following on from them is the Tent, Ice Hook and Rope.
Low paying symbols are Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10, and there’s also a Wild symbol which substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter.
90k Yeti is a 6 reel slot with up to 46,656 ways to win thanks to the Gigablox Feature.
To actually form a win, you’ll need at least 2 of the yeti symbol or 3 of any other symbol to connect from left to right on adjacent reels, starting from the left-most reel.
The Gigablox Feature is brand new to the Yeti series, but it’s featured in a few other slots before. If you’re not familiar with it, this is how it works…
Gigablox symbols are massive symbols on enlarged reels.
These symbols may range from 2×2 to 6×6 in size, and they count for however many symbols they make up. For example, a 2×2 Gigablox symbol could hold four 1×1 symbols within it, so it counts for four separate symbols even though its technically one. Free Spins symbols can even be Gigablox symbols.
This makes connecting wins much easier, and 4ThePlayer has played around with it a bit to fit in with the Yeti franchise, and there’s some recognisable features making their return too.
The Snow Blox symbols are technically blockers, but they’re not completely useless symbols. To the untrained eye, they might certainly seem that way, but the Yeti can jump in at any point to make use of them.
Here’s what Andrew Porter, CEO of 4ThePlayer has to say about the Snow Blox Feature.
Summon big Gigablox? Interesting, lets see how this feature would work.
The yeti will summon a large Gigablox reel, which contains symbols sized 4×4 or higher. This Feature will occur randomly.
That’s not all either. If you’re familiar with the original game then you’ll remember the Snowstorm Feature very well.
In the Snowstorm Feature, the Yeti will shuffle the reels around into an order which creates a win. This Feature will occur randomly.
So far, it seems like 4ThePlayer has really utilised the Gigablox Feature, and they’ve packed plenty into the Base Game to make it anything but boring. But how about Free Spins?
To trigger Free Spins, you’ll need 5 of more Scatter Symbols anywhere in view.
If you’re not a seasoned Gigablox player then 5 Scatters sounds pretty harsh, but remember, Free Spins Scatters can appear as Gigablox symbols. This means you could get all of the Scatters you need in one massive symbol! +1 Free Spin is awarded for every triggering Scatter symbol.
During Free Spins, all Snow Blox are removed from the reels. There’s also a higher chance of triggering the Snowstorm and Gigasummon Features, with at least 1 guaranteed.
If you’re outside of the UK, then you can just jump straight into the action with a Buy Feature, which hasn’t been seen in a Yeti game up until now.
90k Yeti gives players plenty of choice in the Bonus Buy department.
The Giga Summon Spin isn’t a bonus round. It’s simply a spin with a massive 4×4, 5×5 or 6×6 Gigablox. It doesn’t sound worth it for 150x your stake, but it can definitely perform. Through testing this ourselves we had a fair few losers as you’d expect for a slot with high volatility like this, but a decent connection can certainly win you your money back plus profit.
Anyone utilising Bonus Buys should be careful though. It can go right if you’re lucky, or incredibly wrong incredibly fast.
We were incredibly excited to learn about another Yeti slot, and even more excited to learn that it was a Gigablox. All of the new features means exponential potential in this new and improved Yeti slot. 9k yeti has a special place in our hearts, but considering how the new one is 10x more potent with 90,000x winning potential, we think we’ll be strongly in favour of the newest instalment.
The thing that really strikes players about the yeti series is how entertaining it can be. There’s almost always something going on with Snowstorms, and now with Gigablox and Giga summons thrown into the mix its more action packed than ever before.
Overall, if you’re a big fan of the original 9k Yeti, then you’ll absolutely love the sequel. If you’re not a fan, or you haven’t heard of the yeti before, then the chances are you’ll be a new fan if you give it a try!
