Fantasma Games has dabbled in a fair few themes in their time and no two are ever really the same. Animal Carnival Base Game and Features

Animal Carnival is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol types land from left to right or right to left, starting from both the left-most and right-most reels.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€200 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Animal Carnival has a theoretical RTP of 95.64%.

A nice added extra to Animal Carnival is the Avalanche feature. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will topple down from above. Once an Avalanche occurs, there is a chance that more winning combinations will form.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Animal Carnival is the Tiger, followed by the Crocodile, Warthog, Monkey and Bear. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. There is also a Wild symbol present which substitutes for all regular High and Low-paying symbols.

Win Meter and Wild Meter

During the Avalanche feature, all winning combinations will be collected and added to the Win Meter and all Wild symbols will be stored on the Wild Meter on the left side of the reel set.

The Wild Meter has a starting Multiplier of x1 which increases by +1 each time 3 Wild symbols are collected. At the end of the base game spin, the total win for that particular spin is then Multiplied by the current Wild Meter Multiplier. Once all wins are paid and multiplied, both the Win and Wild Meters will be reset and they do not carry over to the Free Spins round.

Sparkle Wild Feature

During any random base game spin, if 1 or more Sparkle Wild symbols appear on the reels it will automatically trigger the Sparkle Wild feature.

Each Sparkle Wild symbol will transform itself and between 1 and 4 other positions into Wilds. Only positions with regular symbols can be chosen at random to transform from the top 3 rows.

Cannon Respin Feature

Landing 1 or more Cannon symbols in any position on the reels, triggers the Cannon Respin feature.

Once there are no more winning combinations present, each Cannon symbol will remove itself and between 3 and 6 regular symbols from the reel set, triggering an Avalanche.

If there is not enough eligible symbols on the reels for removal, the Cannon Respin feature will remove all available eligible symbols.

Animal Carnival Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatters in any position on the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.

During Free Spins, both the Win and Wild Meters will not reset between Free Spins. At the end of Free Spins, the total win collected in the Win Meter will be Multiplied by the Wild Meter Multiplier and paid.

Each time a Scatter symbol appears, +1 Free Spin is awarded.

Animal Carnival Bonus Buy

Animal Carnival: Our Verdict

Animal Carnival wasn’t quite the marvel that Cloud Corsairs was, nor is it as capable, but it’s a fun-filled slot with a touch of eccentricity that we’ve come to know and love from Fantasma Games.

Cannon Respin, Sparkle Wild and Win and Wild Meters makes Animal Carnival both interesting and diverse, and Free Spins makes good use of a better version of the Win and Wild Meters for even more potential as it should. The problem with Animal Carnival might not be what it can do, but rather what it can’t when compared to other slots in the Fantasma Games catalogue.

Animal Carnival capitalises on the adoreable nature of the creatures within to bolster its popularity, but if you can see beneath the surface then what is left might not interest you too much.

Sure Animal Carnival has its moments, but why choose it over other Fantasma slots with more interesting themes, better gameplay and higher potential?

That choice is up to you. Animal Carnival is great if you’re looking for something chill, something cute and something reliable, but in our opinion, Cloud Corsairs would be a much better choice.
