The background is certainly much more appealing, with beautiful scenery, vibrant colouring and an obvious change in Graphics too. Another cosmetic change is Symbols, which shows all High-paying symbols as aquatic animals, which is more in tune with the theme rather than Gems.

It seems that Gold Coin Studios has done their best to make Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast stand out from the original, a task in which they’ve succeeded, but have they done the same with Gameplay?

Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast Base Game and Features

Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. In order to form a winnig combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbol types starting from either the Left-most or Right-most reel. The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€300 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast is the Stingray, followed by the Turtle, Starfish and Seahorse. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen and Jack. There is also a Wild symbol present, which substitutes for all High and Low paying symbols.

Like the original, Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast has no real excitement to offer players in terms of Features, other than Expanding Wilds. Expanding Wilds

Each time a Dolphin Wild appears on reels 2, 3 and 4, it will automatically expand, filling the entire reel its currently on.

If more than one Dolphin Wild lands in view and is adjacent to the other, both Wilds will expand and come together to form a larger image, up to 3×3 in size.

In addition to this, Dolphin Wilds also substitute for Scatter symbols, so if you happen to be one short for the trigger, as long as a Dolphin Wild is in view, it will act as one.

Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatters in a row, starting from reels 1 or 5, triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10, 15 and 20 Free Spins respectively, plus a payout of 2x, 4x and 10x your current bet.

Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast: Our Verdict

Who doesn’t love a good aquatic theme, right? That alone may be enough to entice some, but we’ve a feeling that Aquatic Treasures may appeal to a more casual player.

The growing popularity of highly volatile monsters is no secret. If anything, it’s evident enough by the perpetual release of slots with potential upwards of 10,000x, or even more. Not too long ago, win potential was nowhere near what it was today, but Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast seems reminscent of days gone by with its low-medium volatility and its oceanic them.

‘Under the sea’ slots are still popular today of course, but Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast reminded us in a way of Fish Party, Gold Fish, and of course, it’s prequel, Aquatic Treasures.

Aquatic Treasures Coast 2 Coast isn’t quite as primitive as some of the aforementioned titles though. While it’s relatively simple in nature, it still packs enough of a bunch to deliver some entertaining moments, and some decent wins too.

Sadly, ‘decent’ may well be the best that you can hope for. The definition of the word has shifted in the world of slots with the growing potential of games. Once upon a time it’s maximum 800x win potential would have been a respectable figure, but today it feels low.

Overall, Aquatic Treasures certainly has appeal, but the higher standards of an evolving player base may seal its fate as a slot destined for irrelevance.
