Big Bass Bonanza Hold and Spinner Slot Review Base Game

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner Base Game and Features

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols (or 2 or more of the highest paying symbol) land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 (£/€0.15 Ante Bet) per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€250 (£/€375 Ante Bet) per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.07% and a max win cap of 10,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is the Float, followed by the Fishing Rod, Dragonfly, Tacklebox and Fish. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. Wilds appear only during the Free Spins round, substituting for all other symbols except Scatter and Money symbols.

Ante Bet

Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Ante Bet feature.

Choosing to activate this feature will increase your current bet by 50%, but with that comes one advantage. Once active, more Scatters appear across the reels, meaning that your chances of triggering the Free Spins round is higher. (RTP 96.09%)

Money Symbols

During the base game, Fish Money symbols appear with a random Cash Value between 2x and 10,000x your bet. These cash values have no real value during the base game, only activating during the Free Spins round.

Alongside Fish Money symbols, Reel Kingdom has thrown in special Money symbols in the form of Coins and Diamonds.

Each Coin symbol will appear with a random Cash Value between 1x and 2,000x your bet. These symbols are part of the Hold & Spinner round. More on this below.

Hold & Spinner

Landing 3 Coin symbols across the reels triggers the Hold & Spinner round, awarding 3 Respins. During this round, all triggering Coin symbols will lock into their positions and all remaining symbols are removed.

Each time a new Money symbol lands in view, the number of Respins will reset and the value of each new Money symbol including the Sticky Money values are collected and added to the total win amount.

Please note that new Money symbols do not lock into their positions and will be removed for the next Respin.

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner Feature

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner Free Spins

Landing 3. 4 or 5 Scatters across the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10, 15 and 20 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, Wild symbols come into play and become an important part of the Free Spins round. Wilds will collect the values of any Fish Money symbols on the reels at the same time.

After this, all Wild symbols in view will be collected and stored in the top Progression Meter. Every 4th Wild symbol collected retriggers the round and awards an additional +10 Free Spins and a Multiplier that is applied to all Fish Money symbols, up to a maximum of x10.

Randomly during this round, when 1 or more Wild symbols are present on the reels, Fish Money symbols can appear in random positions across the reels, replacing current symbols from those positions.

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner: Our Verdict

Are we really that surprised to see another Big Bass title being released? Since the release of Big Bass Bonanza, the series has grown in popularity, so it’s understandable that Reel Kingdom want to make the most of its success, but is it time to call it quits?

Since the first release, the Big Bass series has seen many changes. We’ve tried and tested the Megaways and Christmas versions, but with many differences in them all it’s hard to pick a favourite.

Reel Kingdom has branched out once more here by introducing the Hold & Spinner mechanic, which is basically a Hold & Win type round with a few tweaks.

Those of you outside the UK will be able to dive straight into the main attractions via a Bonus Buy option, but others will have to settle for some good old fashioned base game grinding to get in on the action.

All in all, Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner is another great addition to the Big Bass series, but is it the best one? That’s for you to decide.
