Splitter Feature

During the base game, landing a Wild symbol on any of the 5 reels will trigger the Splitter Feature.

Once active, the reel in which the Wild symbol landed will be split, adding an extra row and duplicating the symbols that are already present.

During the base game, a reel can only be split once, but in Free Spins, a reel can be split up to 3 times. Split symbols will act as multiple symbols during win evaluation.

Dream Drop Bonus

The Dream Drop Bonus round can be triggered when 5 DD symbols are revealed before a regular spin. Once active, you are guaranteed to win 1 of 5 Jackpot Prizes known as Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major and Mega.

During the Dream Drop Bonus, you will be presented with 15 Card Options. The aim of the game is to choose random cards until you reveal 3 of same Jackpots.

Once 3 matching Jackpot cards have been revealed, the coressponding Jackpot Prize will be awarded and the round will end.

Grim the Splitter - Dream Drop Bonus

Grim the Splitter Dream Drop Free Spins

Landing 3 ‘B’ Scatters across the reels in any position triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 7 Free Spins. Any additional Scatters after the intial 3 will award an extra +1 Free Spin.

Once active, the triggering Scatters will be stored above their triggering reels and the Splitter Feature remains in play.

During Free Spins, the Splitter feature is persistent, which means that any splits that occur will be stored from one spin to another.

The Splitter Feature can be stored up to 3 times per reel, giving you the chance to win on up to 20 symbols. Landing a ‘B’ Scatter during this time will award an additional +1 Free Spin. It is also possible to split the ‘B’ Scatter, awarding an additional +1 Free Spin for each split.

Grim the Splitter Dream Drop: Our Verdict

Grim the Splitter has the makings of an attractive slot in more than one regard, its Dream Drop integration being one of them.

The way in which it tailors to each individual game really makes it stand out, but how does Grim the Splitter fare as a game in its own right? If you want to experience Grim the Splitter in all of its glory then you may be better off with the non Dream Drop variant. A certain compromise must be made to games within the Dream Drop Jackpots family. Lower RTPs, lower hit rates and free spins that trigger less often is a price that must be paid for a chance at huge jackpot prizes. As exciting as this prospect is, standalone games may be more enjoyable if you’re not fussed about chasing Jackpots.

There’s no gold medals for those who made an educated guess at a split feature in this game, and while its simple, its still effective at improving on Grim the Splitter’s already attractive appeal. We had mixed results when we tested it ourselves, but the stats would suggest that it’s quite capable with 10,000x as a maximum possible win.

Overall, Grim the Splitter didn’t quite stand out as one of Relax’s most ingenious inventions, but it’s another to provide proof of their expertise in their field nonetheless.
