Blueprint Gaming is taking us back to the North American prairie that they evidently love in their latest new slot, Into the Wild Megaways!
Into the Wild Megaways looks rather standard at first glance with the usual suspects as symbols, but are there surprises in store? Blueprint seems to subtly added a sliding reel to the bottom of the game area to counter the traditional Megaways slot format; but will it make much of a difference?
There’s only one way to find out. Into the Wild Megaways isn’t our first rodeo as far as western slots go, and there’s a lot of fierce competition in this genre to contend with.
Let’s see if Into the Wild Megaways has all of the right stuff.
Into the Wild Megaways is a 6 reel slot with up to 117,649 ways to win. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbol types from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 (£/€0.25 Wild Bet) per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€10 (£/€12.50 Wild Bet) per spin, with a small variety of bets in between the two.
Like most Megaways titles, Into the Wild Megaways has a Cascading Reels feature. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will fall down from above via a Cascade. Once a Cascade occurs, there is a chance of creating even more winning combinations.
In additon to this, Into the Wild Megaways also has 2 Sliding Reels, one at the top and bottom of the reel set. If any symbols in the Sliding Reels are used to form a winning combination, all winning symbols will be removed from the sliding reel(s) and all remaining symbols will move one position to the left, filling all the empty spaces.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Into the Wild is the Bear, followed by the Eagle, Bison and Wolf. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine. There is also a Wild symbol present which substitutes for all symbols except Bonus symbols. Wild symbols can only appear above or below reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Into the Wild Megaways has a very appealing Replicator Reels feature along with a Wild Bet which brings some much needed fun to an otherwise boring base game. More on these below!
Before you begin spinning the reels, you will have the option to activate the Wild Bet on the left side of the screen.
Acitvating the Wild Bet will increase your current bet by 25% but also Doubles your chance of triggering the Free Spins round.
During any random spin in both the Base Game and Free Spins, the Replicator Reels feature can be awarded. In order to trigger the Replicator Reels feature, you will need to match the same symbol on both the top and bottom Sliding Reels, directly opposite each other.
Once this happens, any instance of the matching symbols will automatically transform into Wilds. In additon to this, if both the symbols are Wilds then the entire reel will transform into a Wild Reel.
During the base game, any Bonus symbols that may land will be collected and stored in the Bonus Meter on the right side of the screen, clearing space on the reels for new symbols and giving you a chance to land additional Bonus symbols or create winning combinations.
Landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 Scatters in any position on the reels, triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 8, 10, 12 and 14 Free Spins respectively.
During the Free Spins round, an Unlimited Multiplier starting at x1 is active. Every time a winning combination is formed, the current Multiplier will increase by +1 each time. The Replicator Reels feature is also in play during this round.
Blueprint Gaming has thrown in a safety net of sorts with a Bonus Guarantee. If your Free Spin winnings fall below 10x your bet, you will be awarded an additional +4 Free Spins. The Bonus Guarantee will only be awarded once per round.
For those outside the UK, you may benefit from a Bonus Buy option.
The Free Spins round can be purchased for 150x your current bet. When purchasing the Free Spins round, you will be awarded a spin on the Bonus Wheel which determines the amount of Free Spins you will start the round with.
The Bonus Wheel is only available for the Bonus Buy option and can award between 5 and 20 Free Spins with a starting Multiplier of x1 every time. The RTP when purchasing the Free Spins round increases from 96.10% to 96.44%.
Into the Wild Megaways offers little in terms of theme to players hoping for an adventure outside the confines of the dry and baron North American landscape, which could put some off. It’s true that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but the fact is that people do. We’re all guilty of loading up a slot only to close it moments later because of looks alone, but does something deeper hide beneath the surface in Into the Wild Megaways?
Yes and no. In essence, Into the Wild Megaways is a rather typical Megaways slot with sliding reels, cascading reels and even an incremental multiplier within Free Spins.
However, Blueprint Gaming has added something into the bonus round which almost disperses comparisons between it and what you thought it would be, but we’re sure we’ve seen this somewhere before…
The Replicator Reel Feature certainly shakes things up a bit, but if you’ve played Blueprint’s own Rick and Morty Megaways, then it’s hard not to draw conclusions about where they got the idea.
Overall, Into the Wild Megaways is another instalment to join the proud ranks of others from the renowned developer, but it’s not a drastic change from what we’ve seen before, and it’s certainly not an unmissable title.
