Invading Vegas Slot Review 2023

Aliens are turning Sin City into their own personal playground in Play’n GO’s latest release, Invading Vegas!

Vegas is a place that everyone wants to visit at least once in their lifetime….even extra-terrestrial beings apparently. For many years, the Aliens have been mesmerized by the glow of Las Vegas from space and decided it’s time they paid it a visit.

The only thing on their minds is chaos and carnage, grabbing as many Jackpots as they can get their slimy hands on, turning the strip into an out-of-this-world adventure.

As the Aliens descend upon Sin City, the regulars are in for quite a ride. In the 80’s and 90’s, Billionaires, Showgirls, Old Ladies and Fake Elvis owned the town, but now they must live among the Aliens as they are here to stay…but will they be able to live in peace and harmony?

Let’s play on and find out!

Invading Vegas Base Game

Invading Vegas Base Game and Features

Invading Vegas is a 5 reel slot with 20 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet in Invading Vegas can drop to as little as £/€0.01 per spin, up to a maximum bet of £/€100 per spin. This can be chosen by altering the Coin Value, Coins and Lines at the bottom of the reel set. Invading Vegas has a theoretical RTP of 96.20%.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is Fake Elvis, followed by the Billionaire, Showgirl, Journalist and Old Lady. Low-paying symbols fall to Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs. Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Scatters.

Lock on Respin

During the base game, a Respin can be triggered on the middle reel when the first 2 reels are fully stacked with the same symbol (including Wilds), but no winning combination is formed.

Once active, the first 2 reels will lock into place and the 3rd reel will spin again. This feature gives players a second chance to win big.

Walking Wild

Another feature that can trigger in the base game is the Walking Wild feature. When a full stack of Wilds land on the middle reel, they will transform into a Walking Wild and a Respin is awarded.

The walking wild symbol will then move one position to the right for each Respin, until it reaches the right-most reel. During this feature, Scatter symbols cannot land.

Invading Vegas Free Spins

Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatters in any position across the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 12 Free Spins and a payout of 2x, 40x and 250x your current bet respectively.

During Free Spins, the reels are flipped, reversing the order of the reels for an increased chance to win big. The Walking Wild will move to the left rather than right, until they reach the left-most reel and High-paying symbols appear stacked more often on reels 1 and 2.

Landing 3 or more Scatters during this round will award an additional +12 Free Spins, up to a maximum of 120 Free Spins.

Invading Vegas: Our Verdict

Invading Vegas was a fun-filled look into a dystopian world, yet it didn’t really feel like one of Play’n GO’s ‘A-List’ releases.

The Lock On Respin feels weak most of the time, and the Walking Wild just gets less exciting as it progresses further to the right of the screen. It feels as if a few tweaks here and there might have made Invading Vegas a lot better, and the tweaks that they have made do not really do Play’n GO justice.

During Free Spins things are flipped around with a Wild that walks to the left instead of the right, mirroring what we’ve seen before in games like USA Flip. High paying symbols are stacked more often, yet again it feels insufficient. Multipliers, more features and more wilds might have made Invading Vegas a very interesting game, but unfortunately it falls short in more respects than one.

Overall, Invading Vegas is interesting when you try it, but the appeal fades away rather quickly, and as a whole Invading Vegas seems quite forgettable.
