Banquet of Dead Base Game and Features

Banquet of Dead is a 5-reel, 3-row Video Slot with 10 fixed pay lines. Wins are formed when 2 or more of any High-paying symbol, or 3 or more of all other symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

Banquet of Dead can be played for as little as £0.10 per spin, up to a maximum of £100 per spin, with multiple options in between the two. Your bet can be adjusted accordingly via Coins and Coin Values. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.20% and a max win cap of 35,000x.

The highest-paying symbol here is Queen Nitocris, followed by Sobek, Fruit, and a Fan. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. Scatters act as Wilds, substituting for all High and Low-paying symbol wins they are a part of.

Gamble Feature

After a win occurs in the base game, you will be given the option to Gamble the total amount won for more by choosing either a colour playing card or suit. If your gamble is unsuccessful, you will return to the base game empty-handed. However, if the gamble is successful, your total win amount will increase accordingly.

Free Spins

Landing 3 or more Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 7 Free Spins. At the start of Free Spins, a random High or Low-paying symbol is chosen at random to become a special Expanding Symbol.

During Free Spins, landing so many of your chosen Expanding Symbols on the reels, regardless of their position, will cause them to expand to fill the entire reel they are on.

At the end of any spin where a symbol expansion occurred, the current lowest-paying symbol will be removed from the reels for the remainder of Free Spins. If the Expanding symbol is removed, a new symbol will be chosen to become your new Expanding Symbol.

Banquet of Dead: Our Verdict

Banquet of Dead is much like the other ‘of dead’ slots. It’s hard to compose a concise verdict when they’re so alike, and little has changed since the days of Book of Dead.

Play’n GO try to make each of them different in a very conservative way, and Banquet of Dead’s unique trait is the removal of lowest paying symbols. This can be quite effective if things ramp up, and the potential would suggest that Banquet of Dead is quite the monster with 35,000x up for grabs. That being said, Play’n GO aren’t renowned for posting max wins all over the place, and the top prize feels more like a simulated possibility rather than a realistic one.

All in all, Banquet of Dead is good, recognisable, dependable and even loveable when it displays some of the same capabilities that made its predecessor so popular. It’ll never take the podium, but it’s a good enough variant if you’re craving something slightly different.
