Sugar Megarush Slot Review
White clouds drift over a confectionery skyline, the reel frame is capped with icing and sprinkles, and a glass dome on the left spills gumballs like a sweet shop counter. It looks like another candy cluster game, and the pastels don’t argue otherwise. But the most interesting thing about Sugar Megarush isn’t the artwork, it’s the price list: Pragmatic Play, the studio behind Sugar Rush, Sugar Rush 1000 and Sweet Bonanza, has built a bet menu here that can charge 200 times the standard stake for a single spin, and left the reels to justify it.
The numbers behind the pastels: a 7×6 grid where symbols pay anywhere in connected blocks of five or more, medium volatility, a 96.50% RTP, and a 50,000x maximum win. Stakes run from 0.20 to 48,000.00 per spin. The bet menu, though, carries special-bet pricing that goes far beyond the usual ante bet.
The Base Game: Tumbles and Multiplier Spots
Every spin loads between four and nine symbols onto each reel, and that height holds until all tumbles from the spin resolve. There are no paylines. Symbols pay anywhere on the grid, in blocks of at least five connected horizontally or vertically, and multiple blocks in one spin all add to the total.
Tumble Feature
Winning symbols are paid, then they disappear. Everything left falls to the bottom of the grid and fresh symbols drop in from above. The sequence repeats for as long as new wins keep forming, and the whole chain’s winnings land in your balance once the tumbles finish.
Multiplier Spots
Each time a winning symbol explodes, it marks its spot on the grid. The second time a symbol explodes on that same spot, a multiplier is added, starting at x2 and doubling with every further explosion on top of it, up to x2048.
The multiplier applies to any winning combination that lands on top of it. Where several multipliers sit under one combination, they add together rather than multiply. In the base game, all marked spots clear when the tumble sequence ends, which keeps the build contained to a single spin’s chain.
Symbols and Pays
Seven paying symbols cover the grid, from gummy bears up to the pink lollipop. All values are multiples of the total bet:
- Pink lollipop: 1x for 5, up to 150x for 15 or more
- Orange heart candy: 0.75x for 5, up to 100x for 15 or more
- Purple jellybean: 0.5x for 5, up to 60x for 15 or more
- Green star: 0.4x for 5, up to 40x for 15 or more
- Orange bear: 0.3x for 5, up to 30x for 15 or more
- Purple bear: 0.25x for 5, up to 25x for 15 or more
- Tan bear: 0.2x for 5, up to 20x for 15 or more
The scatter is the only other symbol in play, appearing on all reels. A treble scatter also exists, and it opens a different route into the bonus, covered below.
Free Spins and Treble Free Spins
Three or more scatters anywhere on screen trigger the round, with more scatters paying more spins:
- 3 scatters: 10 free spins
- 4 scatters: 12 free spins
- 5 scatters: 15 free spins
- 6 scatters: 20 free spins
- 7 scatters: 30 free spins
The difference from the base game is persistence. Marked spots and their multipliers stay on the grid for the entire round, growing with every tumble across every spin. A spin can begin with the grid already carrying x64 and x128 spots, and it only climbs from there.
Reel heights change during the round too. When a reel shrinks, multipliers sitting above the new height are sorted highest to lowest and pushed down into empty positions. If no space is free, the falling multiplier lands on the lowest existing one and multiplies with it. Marked positions without multipliers are preserved until their reel grows again.
Treble Free Spins
Combinations of three or more scatter and treble scatter symbols together trigger the Treble Free Spins round, where the multiplier ladder triples instead of doubles. Spots climb x3, x9, x27, x81, x243 and x729, topping out at x2187. Special reels are in play during the feature, and three or more scatters retrigger the same spin awards as the base trigger.
One hard rule governs every round: if a free spins cycle’s total reaches the win cap, the round ends on the spot, the win is paid and all remaining spins are forfeited.
Special Bets and the Buy Feature
The bet menu offers more than a stake size. Beyond normal play at a 20x bet multiplier, five alternative modes change how the game behaves before a single symbol drops:
- Ante Bet (60x bet): an 8x higher chance of triggering any type of free spins naturally, running at 96.57% RTP
- Super Spin 1 (400x bet): 8 to 20 random positions start with multipliers of x3, x9, x27, x81, x243, x729 or x2187
- Super Spin 2 (2000x bet): every position starts with an x16 multiplier, doubling per tumble to x2048
- Super Spin 3 (4000x bet): every position starts at x27, tripling per tumble to x2187
Those prices are multiples of the normal stake, not small uplifts. Super Spin 3 costs 200 times what a standard spin does, and it puts a full grid of x27 multipliers under every tumble from the first drop. The RTP sits between 96.48% and 96.57% across every mode.
Buy Feature
The bonus can also be bought outright, with four tiers:
- Free Spins: 100x base bet, 96.57% RTP
- Super Free Spins: 500x base bet, 96.56% RTP, x2 starting multipliers on all spots
- Treble Free Spins: 500x base bet, 96.45% RTP
- Super Treble Free Spins: 2000x base bet, 96.48% RTP, x3 starting multipliers on all spots
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
The base game is honest tumble work: chains form, spots double, then everything wipes clean and the next spin starts from nothing. The reason to choose this one over the earlier games in the sweet shop is what happens when it remembers. In free spins the grid keeps every multiplier it has built, so a spot that reached x128 on the third spin is still there on the fifteenth, and the treble round triples the ladder on top of that. That compounding is genuinely rare in a candy slot.
The weakness is the pricing around the edges. The Super Spins cost up to 200 times a normal stake and return, at best, a tenth of a percent more RTP, so they’re a bankroll flex rather than smarter maths.
At the default settings this is a fair, medium-volatility cluster game with one of the better bonus builds in the genre. It’s a strong pick for anyone who liked Sugar Rush and wanted the multipliers to stick around; the premium modes belong to bigger bankrolls than most of us are carrying. Straight from the jar, it’s sweet enough.
