Kodiak Kingdom Slot Review 2021

Nature lovers rejoice for another instalment in the Multiplier Mountain series with Kodiak Kingdom!

Silverback Multiplier Mountain was the first release to introduce us to the series, and in it we witnessed the power of the mighty gorilla in the depths of the deep jungle. Silverback Multiplier Mountain enjoyed ample success, but has Kodiak Kingdom dreamed up a formula to make it even more successful?

The Gorilla may be gone, but we’ve the formidable Bear to contend with instead. Let’s go on a hike together in this Kodiak Kingdom Slot review and see how it measures up to its predecessor.

Kodiak Kingdom Base Game

Kodiak Kingdom Theme

For those who aren’t familiar, Kodiak is the main city in Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska USA. Certain animals are native to the area including Kodiak Brown Bears, River Otters and King Crabs. Kodiak Island happens to be the second largest Island in the United States and the 80th largest Island in the world. The word Kodiak means ‘a land mass that is surrounded by water’.

The backdrop in Kodiak Kingdom is truly mesmerizing, icy mountains can be seen in the distance overlooking stunning scenery and a calming stream.

The music playing throughout is not typical of what you hear in most slot games and rather something you would listen to during a massage or to help get you off to sleep, its soothing and theraputic yet suprisingly works well with the theme. Once Free Spins land though, the music becomes a little more upbeat and exctiting!

Sound effects make the theme a little better, birds can be heard singing in the distance and each time a Kodiak Brown Bear lands it lets off a little growl. The sound effects are definitely more dominant against the hypnotic music, almost drowning it out completely.

We will admit, the graphics could have been a lot better but you soon get past this once you focus on gameplay and the whopping 25,000x thats up for grabs!

The music may have us drifting off into a deep sleep but will gameplay have the opposite effect? Let’s find out.

Kodiak Kingdom Base Game and Features

Kodiak Kingdom is a 6 reel slot with 4,096 ways to win. To form a win you will need to connect 3 or more (or 2 or more Kodiak Brown Bears) from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The base game in Kodiak Kingdom definitely lacks in excitement but Just For The Win have tried to make up for that by adding Multiplier Wilds into the mix, its not exactly the kind of feature we are used to but it certainly makes the base game all the more appealing.

Multiplier Wilds

Regular Wilds and Multiplier Wilds can only land on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The base game and Free Spins both start off with a 1x Multiplier, for every Multiplier Wild that lands on a spin, the Multiplier will increase by +1.

Each winning combination in the base game is multiplied by the current multiplier.

With each new spin, the multiplier is reset back to 1x.

Kodiak Kingdom Our Verdict

A huge pat on the back to Just For The Win for creating a game that is not only visually impressive but also statistically. Kodiak Kingdom is definitely in great shape with an above average RTP of 96.20% and a whopping max win capacity of 25,000x, which we certainly can’t grizzle about!

The theme of Kodiak Kingdom is something that has been touched upon before in previous slots so its not an entirely innovative one, but although it’s generic we can’t deny the care that must have gone into creating such a visually astounding experience. The Wild Multiplier is a very welcome addition to the game, and its persistent in Free Spins too. Silverback Multiplier Mountain was a great game in our eyes, and it definitely feels as if there’s been some subtle but significant changes to make Kodiak Kingdom even better than its predecessor.

Kodiak Kingdom is a rather simple game too. We’re all very much aware that a horde of slots are beginning to invent and adopt complicated mechanics to stand out from the crowd, and sometimes this just doesn’t sit well for those who may not understand them. If you’re more of a classic player who prefers a more straightforward experience, then Kodiak Kingdom offers just that. It’s not classic in the sense that it’s dull and scarce of features, but it’s certainly not complex.

Overall, If you were a fan of the original slot, then there’s a good chance that you’ll very much like Kodiak Kingdom.
