Leprechaun Heist Base Game and Features

Leprechaun Heist is a 5 reel slot with a Scatter Pays mechanic. Winning combinations are formed when 8 or more of the same symbols land anywhere across the reels.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Leprechaun Heist has a theoretical RTP of 96.00% and a max win cap of 6,706x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Character with the Gold Frame, followed by Characters with Silver and Bronze Frames, Gold Bars, the Necklace, and Money. Low-paying symbols fall to Pink, Blue, and Green crest symbols. Wild substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols.

Each time a winning combination forms, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will drop down from above via a Cascade. This continues until no more wins are formed.

Ammo Level Ups

During the base game and Free Spins round, each time a winning combination is formed, it will contribute towards filling the Ammo Level Ups feature.

For every 4th winning combination formed in a row, it will activate 1 of 4 Ammo Level Ups, as follows.

• Random Wilds – The first 4 consecutive wins in a row will award the Random Wilds modifier. Once active, a random number of Wilds will be added to the reels.
• Symbol Upgrade – After 8 consecutive wins in a row, the Symbol Upgrade modifier will be awarded. Once active, a random number of symbols will be upgraded to a Higher-paying symbol.
• Symbol Transformer – After 12 consecutive wins in a row, the Symbol Transformer modifier will be awarded. Once active, a random number of symbols will be transformed into the same High or Low-paying symbol.
• The Heist Free Spins – After 16 consecutive wins in a row, the Free Spins round will automatically be awarded. This will trigger once the game round is complete.

Once you have achieved 16 consecutive wins in a row and reached the top of the Ammo Level Ups feature, the Free Spins round will trigger, awarding 8 Free Spins.

During Free Spins, the Ammo Level Ups feature is in play which works in the same way as it does in the base game. When you reach the top of the Ammo Level Ups meter, you will be awarded an additional +5 Free Spins.

On occasion, certain High or Low-paying symbols will appear with a random Multiplier between x2 and x5 attached to them.

Leprechaun Heist: Our Verdict

Leprechaun Heist, like Spring Heeled Jack, is an absolute picture, with quality graphics and an equally exciting theme, but did it fall short in the gameplay department as Spring Heeled Jack did?

To be honest, we didn’t have much hope for Leprechaun Heist because of the disappointment we felt with Spring Heeled Jack, but it seems we were wrong to think that way.

Blue Guru Games has ditched paylines in favour of the Scatter Pays mechanic, which makes Leprechaun Heist a lot more attractive in our opinion, but were they able to keep up the appeal in gameplay?

The Ammo Level Ups feature is the only way in which you can achieve the Free Spins round, and reaching the first level or two can be a little tricky, but it’s not impossible.

It doesn’t take long to get into a rhythm of it thanks to the help of Wilds, Symbol Upgrades, and Symbol Transformer modifiers, which give you the boost you need to reach the top.

There is more of the Ammo Level Ups feature to be had in the Free Spins round too, where each level remains the same other than the top level which awards additional Free Spins. Keep an eye out for Multipliers which can appear with any random symbol from the paytable, upping the potential.

All in all, Leprechaun Heist is a definite step in the right direction for Blue Guru Games, but it just needed a little something to make it extraordinary.
