Leprechaun’s Vault Slot Review 2022

Larkin the Leprechaun has got quite a situation on his hands involving some rather mischievous Fairies and a vault full of magical treasure, in Play’n GO’s latest release, Leprechaun’s Vault!

Larkin the Leprechaun is usually lucky, but recently it seems his luck has ran out. You see, he has a locked Vault in his posession that’s full of all kinds of magical trinkets but mischievous Fairies have flown off with the keys. Will we be able to help Larkin retrieve the keys and unlock the vault?

Leprechaun slots are by fare one of the most common themes alongside Egyptians and the Wild West, so when a Provider chooses this as a theme it certainly comes with its own challenges, but will Leprechaun’s Vault become as popular as the Rainbow Riches series?

In terms of design, Leprechaun’s Vault is everything you would expect from an Irish themed slot. The background shows a magical land with mushrooms, little wooden doors and the magical vault sat high up in the clouds. Sticking to Irish culture, Play’n GO has filled the reels with fairies, horse-shoes and leprechaun hats which tie in nicely with the theme.

Leprechaun’s Vault Base Game and Features

Leprechaun’s Vault is a 5 reel slot with 20 fixed paylines. In order to form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with other options in between the two.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Leprechaun’s Vault is Larkin, followed by 3 Fairies with Yellow, Purple and Blue backgrounds, Leprechaun Hats and Horse-shoes. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. There is also a Wild Multiplier symbol which substitutes for all symbols except Keys.

Multiplier Wilds

Each time a Wild symbol lands in view, it will always appear with a Multiplier of either x2, x3 or x4. If multiplie Wild Multiplier symbols are present on the reels and are part of a winning combination, all Multiplier values will be applied to that particular win.

Multiplier Wilds are only present on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Leprechaun’s Vault Treasure Free Spins

Landing 3 Key Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 automatically triggers the Treasure Free Spins round.

Before the Free Spins round can begin, the magical Vault will appear which determines the total number of free spins you will start the round with based on the Vault combination, up to a maximum of 24 Free Spins.

During Treasure Free Spins, all Wild Multipliers that land in view will become sticky, remaining in their position for the duration of Free Spins. Similar to the base game, Wild Multipliers will only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 and will always land with a Multiplier value of either x2, x3 or x4.

The Treasure Free Spins round cannot be retriggered.

Leprechaun’s Vault: Our Verdict

Play’n GO has successfully pulled off the Irish/Leprechaun theme, but is the gameplay a success? Leprechaun’s Vault definitely has some nice qaulities to it but it’s lacking in any real excitement in the form of features. The Multiplier Wilds bring a little something to the table but if you’re real big on features, this just isn’t going to cut it.

Although the Free Spins round doesn’t offer anything more, it’s a lot more promising than the base game given that Multiplier Wilds become sticky during this round, but their values still remain the same.

That being said, The Dog House offers something similar and players can’t seem to get enough so maybe that’s all it will take to win players over, that and the 9,000x maximum win capacity.

All in all, Leprechaun’s Vault offers ample potential, plenty of fun and a proven and favourable theme for lovers of Irish Slots.
