Links of Ra adopts what was once considered a timeless Egyptian theme, but lately it feels a little more timeworn instead. It’s hard to get really excited about something that you’ve seemingly seen a thousand times before, but is Links of Ra deceptively different from those akin to it in the visual sense?

Links of Ra Betting and Symbols

Links of Ra has a variety of betting options for you to choose from. For players who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available is £/€0.20 per spin. For players who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £/€20 per spin, with plenty of options in between the two. Bets can be configured by Coins per line or coin size, which in turn changes the total bet. Links of Ra Base Game and Features

Links of Ra is a 5 reel slot with 40 fixed paylines. In order to form a win you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

Power Stacks

During any random spin in the Base Game and Free Spins, symbols can become Power Stacked.

The power stacked symbols are added to all 5 reels, where all symbols except Scatters and Wilds can be Power Stacked.

Link & Win

Sat directly above the reels is a meter. In order to trigger the Link & Win feature, this meter needs to be filled with 6 or more Coin symbols during any random spin in the base game.

Once triggered, 3 Link & Win Respins are awarded. All Coin symbols that triggered the Link & Win feature are held in position, whilst all other empty symbol spaces respin.

Any additional Coin symbols that land during respins will be held in position, and all respins will reset back to 3.

The Link & Win feature will end when all respins are complete or if the Grand Jackpot is awarded.

Links of Ra Our Verdict

Links of Ra has a lot going for it in a lot of ways. A very particular and meticulous approach was taken in ensuring great graphics and sounds for Links of Ra, which is a lot more than what could be said for others with the same Egyptian style.

When it comes to gameplay, Links of Ra doesn’t really offer too much in terms of innovation, but it’s not bad either. There’s certainly still a lot of life left in the Link & Win style of gameplay, but we fear that it’s not as timeless as perhaps the Megaways Mechanic has proven to be. Links of Ra certainly has the potential to impress those new to the mechanic and even returning players, but we’re doubtful that it will enjoy the kind of longevity that others do.

That being said, win potential is certainly impressive in Links of Ra, and if you manage to bag yourself one of those big prizes you’d undoubtedly find yourself a faithful player to Links of Ra and Link&Win style slots going forward. Overall, It’s hard to be too enthusiastic about Links of Ra, but it has its merits. It may not make the grandiose impression that other slots do, but it certainly isn’t without potential.
