Everyone’s favourite Princesses, Love, Star and Storm have returned for their next adventure, but this time they’re turning the magic up to 100 in Play’n GO’s latest release, Moon Princess 100!

Moon Princess 100 has certainly has a lot to live up to, but will it be able to top the original? Play’n GO are bringing back all the original features but with a sprinkle of something new, with an impressive 15,000x maximum win capacity and a x100 Multiplier, there’s plenty of potential to be had here.

It’s true that Moon Princess 100 is bigger and better than the first in terms of statistics, but there is nothing new when it comes to the design. The one thing we are certainly happy about is the Princess characters don’t look as demonic as they did in Moon Princess Christmas Kingdom, but other than this there isn’t much worth mentioning. The design of Moon Princess 100 is identical to the original.

Moon Princess 100 Betting and Symbols

Moon Princess 100 has a variety of betting options for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available is £/€0.20 per spin. For those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.

The highest paying regular symbols in Moon Princess 100 are the 3 Princesses, Love, Star and Storm or any combination of the 3. The Princess symbols all share the same pay value. Lower paying symbols fall to Bells, Hearts, Moons and Circles.

Wild symbols substitute for all high and low-paying symbols.

Moon Princess 100 Base Game and Features

Moon Princess 100 is a 5×5 Video Slot with a Cluster Pays mechanic. In order to form a win, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols adjacent to one another either Horizontally or Vertically.

Like the original, once a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed and the remaining symbols will drop down to fill the empty positions on the reels. When a winning combination is formed, one of the winning symbols may transform into a Wild symbol, but this not guaranteed. In addition to this, Wild symbols will remain on the reels for a certain amount of wins, then they are removed.

Each time more than one winning comnbination is formed in one single spin, the increasing Multiplier will kick in. The increasing Multiplier will continue until no more winning combinations are formed, resetting back to x1 with each new spin. Hence the new name, Moon Princess can now reach a Multiplier of x100 rather than the usual x20 like in the original.

The base game in Moon Princess 100 works in the same way the original does and even has the famous Girl Power and Trinity features that players really enjoy. More on these below.

Girl Power

During any non-winning base game spin, the Girl Power feature can be awarded.

Once this happens, 1 of 3 Princesses will trigger and award their corresponding Modifier. These are as follows.

• Love – Tranforms one set of symbols into another high or low paying symbol type.
• Star – Adds 1 or 2 Wild symbols to the reels.
• Storm – Removes up to 2 sets of symbols from the reels.

During the Free Spins round, the chosen Princess Modifier triggers on every non-winnning spin.

Trinity Feature

On the left side of the reel set is a special Meter. Filling the Meter with winning Princess symbols all the way to the top, triggers the Trinity feature.

• x3 Princess symbols – Fills section 1 of the Meter.
• x4 Princess symbols – Fills section 2 of the Meter.
• x5 Princess symbols – Fills section 3 of the Meter.

Once all 3 sections of the Meter are filled, the 3 princess Modifiers will be performed in 1 Free Spin, one after the other. Any Multiplier you have managed to build up will be reset before the Trinity feature begins.

Moon Princess 100 Free Spins

Clearing the entire reel set (minus 1 symbol in Trinity feature), triggers the Free Spins round. Depending on which Princess option you choose, the amount of Free Spins you are awarded varies.

• Love Free Spins – Awards 4 Free Spins and the Princess Love Modifier.
• Star Free Spins – Awards 5 Free Spins and the Princess Star Modifier.
• Storm Free Spins – Awards 8 Free Spins and the Princess Storm Modifier.

During the Free Spins round, the increasing Multiplier will not reset between spins and can reach up to a whopping x100! The special Meter is also active, but instead of awarding the Trinity feature it will award additonal Free Spins.

Depending on which princess option you choose, the Meter will award +2, +3 or +4 Free Spins when filled. The maximum amount of Free Spins up for grabs is 100 rather than the usual 20 seen in the original.

Moon Princess 100 Our Verdict

Play’n GO has been releasing a few stinkers recently and so it’s nice to see a familiar face that we know and love. Don’t get too excited though, Moon Princess 100 is exactly the same as the original when it comes down to theme and features. Of course it wouldn’t be a new release if Play’n GO hadn’t changed a thing, so rest assured there are a couple of differences to the first.

Moon Princess 100 still has a strong female lead and a Japanese Anime theme, along with the Trinity and Girl Power features, but it’s what these features can achieve that’s changed. The increasing Multiplier can now reach a maximum of x100 and the maximum amount of Free Spins that can be awarded has increased to 100, whereas the original Moon Princess could only reach to x20 in Multiplier and award up to 20 Free Spins.

Although these are fantastic changes, we can’t help but feel a little cheated. Play’n GO delivered a Christmas version of Moon Princess last year and even though it followed the same gameplay, it somehow felt and looked different, but this new version is more about statistics than anything else.

Talking of statistics, don’t turn your nose up at this slot just yet. Moon Princess 100 has an above average RTP of 96.20% and a pleasant 15,000x maximum win capacity to match. Along with the Multiplier and Free Spins, the maximum win capacity has also had an upgrade, going from an average 5,000x in the original to triple that amount here.

All in all, Moon Princess 100 may look exactly the same as the first, but Play’n GO has given it the upgrade it so rightfully deserves. If you loved the original Moon Princess, then you will no doubt enjoy this version, with plenty more potential to be had.
