It’s time to get swole once again with the third in the Relax Gaming / Casino Grounds collaboration, Net Gains.

The buffest beasts around have joined forces with the Lion in pursuit of treasures at sea, and what a crew it is. The Shark, the Croc and the Rhino need no winches for their boat because they’re shredded enough to lift it out the sea themselves, and fish are scared enough to jump into the net as an act of submission.

The crew are trawling unchartered waters in search of hidden riches, and this time Relax Gaming and Casino Grounds has upped the ante with 3 different mystery symbol features, yet the statistics makes Net Gains less capable than it’s predecessor, Beast Mode.

Is Net Gains the sequel we were hoping for?

Net Gains Base Game and Features

Net Gains is a 6 reel slot with 4,096 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.10 (£/€0.12 Special Bet) per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€60 (£/€72 Special Bet) per spin, with plenty of other betting options in between the two. Net Gains has a theoretical RTP of 96.10% and a max win cap of 15,000x.

Once a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will drop down from above, filling all empty positions and possibly creating even more winning combinations.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is the Lion, followed by the Crab, Octopus, Whiskey Bottle and Jewels. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. Wild symbols are also present and substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols.

Special Bet

Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Special Bet. (RTP 96.50%)

Choosing to activate the Special Bet will increase your current bet by 20%, but with that comes certain benefits. Once active, your chances of triggering the Free Spins round increase by 82%.

Mystery Symbols

During the base game, 1 of 3 Mystery symbols can be awarded at random.

• Regular Mystery Symbols – All landed mystery symbols will reveal the same High or Low-paying symbol.
• Octopus Mystery Symbols – Changes the selected High or Low-paying symbol into Mystery symbols.
• Bomb Mystery Symbols – Acts as a regular Mystery symbol but destroys all non Mystery symbols after wins are added. If 2 Scatters have already been collected, 1 mystery symbol can reveal the 3rd Scatter.

Net Gains Free Spins

Free Spins are triggered by collecting 3 Bonus Symbols, and players have a choice of bonus rounds once again.

Net Gains also features a new Hot Mode.

Hot Mode

Hot Mode can be triggered randomly at the start of any Free Spins Mode. When in Hot Mode, there is an increased chance of winning big.

Stacked Wilds

Two types of Wilds can land on the reels. Multiplier Wilds have a multiplier between 2x and 5x on them, while Countdown Wilds always start with a counter of 3.

For every generation the countdown Wilds are included in a way, their counter goes down by 1. They are destroyed  when the counter is at 1 and they are included in a win.

Sticky Mystery

Mystery Symbols land more frequently and they’re sticky throughout Free Spins.

You can get Sticky Mystery symbols and +1 spins by filling the mystery meter. The meter will fill one step for each win.

Coin Collection

Collect gold, silver and bronze coins by landing collection chests or the persistent collection chest. Upgrade the coin values and get +1 spins by filling the coin meter, and the meter will fill one step for each coin on the reel.

When landing a persistent chest 4 extra spins are awarded. There’s a chance of a coin rain within the Coin Collection feature too. This awards 10 coins of the same type on the reel.

Net Gains Bonus Buy

Those outside of the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option.

Net Gains: Our Verdict

Relax and Casino Grounds has given their ‘Swole’ series a lot of love.

Iron Bank, Beast Mode and Net Gains are all higher performers with a lot of experience, and a lot to love. The shining aspect of all of them is their diverse features, and it’s the type of game that you’ll want to play again and again just to experience them all if nothing else.

The Base Game Mystery Symbol Features really enhances the base game as well. In both Iron Bank and Beast Mode players were given one mystery symbol feature in the Base Game, and while they were entertaining it’s great to get more. The Trio of games are the complete opposite of boring with so much to love about them, and Relax Gaming and Casino Grounds has done well to build another enthralling experience in Net Gains.

We’ve tested out each of the bonus modes ourselves and we honestly can’t pick a favourite. Each of them showed so much promise, and all of them cost the same if you’re buying the bonus so it really is a case of which one you prefer.

Beast Mode was brilliant, but the gamble feature could feel rather brutal indeed. This has been eliminated for Net Gains, so there’s no need to worry about that now, and each of the Free Spins modes does well in giving you an extra spin or two during their respective rounds anyway.

Another improvement is the Special Bet Feature. This costs an extra 20% on your base bet, but it increases the chance of Free Spins by 82%, which seems very generous.

Statistically speaking, Net Gains is actually less capable than Beast Mode, and Iron Bank for that matter. Beast mode topped out at 25,000x, and Iron Bank boasted of a huge 49998x (though we’re not sure it ever pulled it off). In contrast, Net Gains has a maximum win cap of 15,000x, yet we’re fine with that given all of the other nice improvements made to the third in the series.

Overall, Net Gains is another brilliant collaboration between Relax Gaming and Casino Grounds. Each game never fails to impress, and to say that we’re excited for Net Gains is an understatement.
