Lara Croft: Fortune of the Eclipse Slot Review
Join legendary explorer, Lara Croft, as she swings into action on the reels of Triple Edge Studios‘ latest release, Lara Croft: Fortune of the Eclipse. The success of Lara Croft originated from a 1996 video game, Tomb Raider, where the player assumes the role of an archaeologist who explores a series of tombs & ruins, collecting ancient artefacts.
After the game’s success, Lara Croft soon became the star of the 2001 & 2003 Tomb Raider movies, starring Angelina Jolie as the voluptuous archaeologist. Today, Lara Croft has embarked on many adventures through additional video games & movies, with whispers of a new, unnamed Tomb Raider game in development.
It seems we’ve not seen the last of Lara Croft just yet, who is now the star of Triple Edge Studios’ latest release, Lara Croft: Fortune of the Eclipse. Standing to the left of the reel set, kitted out with an arsenal of weapons, it’s clear she means business, but this Lara Croft is no Angelina Jolie.
Join Lara Croft in her most daring adventure yet, as she explores a forgotten celestial city, where the Avalanche Feature paves the way to powerful wins & legendary fortunes. Bringing iconic entertainment to the reels, Triple Edge Studios transforms our beloved Tomb Raider series into a memorable & engaging Branded Slot.
Our interaction with branded slots began with Blueprint Gaming’s The Goonies Megaways, followed by Light & Wonder & NetEnt creating Squid Game: One Lucky Day and Narcos, based on two popular Netflix series.
It’s not always about movies or video games, though. Occasionally, we’re met with a release that’s based on a popular music band or rock god, and nine times out of ten, it’s Play’n GO at the helm. Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper and the Tome of Madness, & NSYNC Pop each come with iconic tracks so that you can have a sing-along as you spin the reels.
Lara Croft: Fortune of the Eclipse has a fixed RTP of 96%, a medium volatility rating, and a 2,000x maximum win potential. Join us as we uncover ancient secrets and riches in Lara Croft: Fortune of the Eclipse…

Base Game & Features
Lara Croft: Fortune of the Eclipse is a medium volatility release from Triple Edge Studios, consisting of 6 reels, 5 rows, and a Scatter Pays mechanic. Wins occur when 8 or more paytable symbols land anywhere on the grid, regardless of their positions.
The highest-paying symbol is Lara Croft, followed by 3 Mayan Characters and 5 Coloured Gems. Each winning combination that occurs throughout spins will award a fixed payout between 0.2x and 50x your bet.
The Avalanche Feature triggers each time a winning combination activates, causing all winning symbols to be destroyed from the grid. Each empty cell position is filled with new symbols from above, potentially enhancing or creating additional wins in a single spin.

MultiChase Rolling Multipliers
During any base game spin or avalanche sequence, Lara Croft can shoot her arrow onto the grid, revealing Multipliers between x2 and x100. Each Multiplier remains in its position until no additional winning combinations or avalanche sequences take place.
Once the grid has settled, each available Multiplier is applied to the Total Win of the session, displayed above the grid. Furthermore, Multiplier symbols can also have their values upgraded on any random spin. At the end of each spin, the current Multiplier is reset to x1 for the next paid spin.

Free Spins Multiplier
When 3 Scatters appear anywhere in a base game spin, they will increment the Free Spins Multiplier. At the start of a session, the Free Spins Multiplier begins at x1 and is boosted by +x1 for every 3 Scatters that hit, up to a maximum of x20.
Upon entry into the Free Spins mode, the current Free Spins Multiplier is carried over as the starting value.

Lara Croft: Fortune of the Eclipse Free Spins
Triggering the Free Spins mode requires 4, 5, or 6 Scatters to land in the base game, awarding 10 Free Spins and a payout of 1x, 20x, and 200x your bet, respectively.
In this mode, each Multiplier symbol that appears will be added to the Free Spins Multiplier before any winning combinations are paid out. The current Free Spins Multiplier remains persistent throughout spins and is not subject to any limitations.
At the end of Free Spins, the current Global Multiplier is reset to x1, with the chance to randomly reset to x2, x3, or x4.

Bonus Buy
Players may purchase any of the following Bonus Buy options:
- Free Spins: Awards 10 Free Spins and a x1 Global Multiplier for 50x your bet
- Boosted Free Spins: Awards 10 Free Spins and a x5 Global Multiplier. The cost of this option depends on your current game progress.
Both of the above options include a fixed RTP of 96.02%. This game has a maximum win potential of 2,000x your bet. If a game session exceeds this, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.

Our Honest Verdict
Lara Croft has built quite a reputation since 1996, starring in many video games and movies. Triple Edge Studios has attempted to recreate this by using Lara Croft as the icon of their latest release, but did it have the same effect?
While Triple Edge Studios has nailed the concept, their version of Lara Croft looks nothing like Lara Croft/Angelina Jolie from the movies. In the base game, you’re reliant on Lara to aim her arrow at the grid, so that Multipliers up to x100 can be revealed.
These Multipliers are important when establishing bigger payouts as they multiply the total win of a spin by their respective values. Without them, winning payouts are lower than your average pay line or ways to win slot.
This particular nature of gameplay is not unknown to us, appearing in several Pragmatic Play titles before this, including Gates of Olympus & Starlight Princess. What’s unique about this game, though, is the opportunity to boost your current Free Spins Multiplier.
This is done by landing 3 Scatters in the base game, which increments the Free Spins Multiplier by +x1, up to a maximum of x20. Even after the maximum Free Spins Multiplier is achieved, in Free Spins, you can still land additional Multipliers on the grid, but they do not accumulate.
On the subject of Free Spins, one disappointing factor is that the Free Spins Multiplier does not apply to all wins, unless there is a new Multiplier symbol on the grid to activate it. This means that you could potentially have an entire Free Spins session that does not activate the Free Spins Multiplier once, although unlikely.
Even when the game pulls out all the bells & whistles, the best it can achieve, statistically, is 2,000x your bet. If you’re here for the nostalgia, you’ll be pleased with everything Lara Croft: Fortune of the Eclipse has to offer, but if you’re looking for big win potential, you’ll be better off elsewhere.
