Welcome to The Dog House, the kind you’ll love, and not the kind the significant other in your life sent you to because you left your dirty washing on the floor again (Shame on you).
In this dog house, you won’t be spending a cold lonely night on the sofa, instead you’ll be spending time with our favourite puppies in Pragmatic Play newest canine campaign, The Dog House Megaways Slot.
Everyone is happy to welcome back The Dog House, the first game was incredibly captivating with eye watering volatility that could give you everything or nothing, and has become an absolute fan favourite amongst players everywhere.
Using the Big Time Gaming Megaways Mechanic, we’re promised more of the same fluffy adventures with a new spin and with it, new potential.
The Dog House is set to release 13th August.
The Dog House Megaways has a theme very familiar to us all, using pretty much an identical design from the original game. The background looks like that of a quiet suburban neighbourhood and the reels are once again encased within a doghouse.
The music is pleasant and uplifting and so far, it’s looking bright for a game you can sit back and relax with.
With The Dog House Megaways we have 6 reels, and 3 or more matching symbols will form a win starting from the left-most reel. Each reel is capable of holding between 2-7 symbols, and all of these together will determine how many ways to win there are.
Ways to win varies every spin depending on how many of these symbols show up on each reel, and can reach that staggering 117,649 ways that we’ve all become so familiar with from Megaways games.
The symbols in this game exactly as those used in the original Dog House game, and once again the dopey Rottweiler takes his place atop the pecking order as top symbol. Low paying symbols are the classic A, K, Q, J & 10 and we also have a Wild that substitutes for all symbols except for the scatter.
Betting options in this game are variable between bet level and coin value, with a minimum bet of 0.20 and a maximum bet of 100.
Players outside the UK have the option of a bonus buy feature, costing 100x your stake.
Differing from the original game, The Dog House Megaways now works on ways to win rather than paylines, as you’d expect from a Megaways game. 2-7 Symbols will fall onto the reels each spin via an avalanche, and obtaining a win will require matching 3 symbols from left to right.
This particular Megaways game does not explode winning symbols to make room for new symbols to take their place.
The game also has Wilds that can hold a random multiplier. These can land as either 1x, 2x or 3x, and if more than one multiplier is part of a winning combination then the multipliers will be added together for a total multiplier.
The Dog House Megaways doesn’t have anything in the way of base game features apart from the Wild Multipliers, but it does feature 2 different kinds of bonus for the player to choose from.
3 or more scatters will be needed to trigger the bonus, and the amount you get will determine how many spins you get.
In The Raining Wilds Free Spins, up to 6 Wild Symbols carrying a multiplier of 1x, 2x or 3x can be added to the screen in random positions. Raining Wilds Free Spins cannot be re-triggered.
This bonus is the less volatile of the 2 available Bonuses with more overall obtainable spins, but the wins might be smaller.
3 or more scatters will once again be needed to trigger the bonus, and the amount you get will determine how many spins you get.
In the Sticky Wilds Free Spins, whenever a Wild symbol lands it will get a multiplier of 1x, 2x or 3x and remain for the rest of the round. The Wilds will change size to match the megaways size for that reel.
Reel size is guaranteed to be at least as big as the number of the wilds on that reel. For example, 3 wilds on one reel will mean that the reel will be at least 3 high for the remainder of the round.
Sticky Wilds is the more volatile of the two, and it’s more reminiscent of the bonus we saw from the original Dog House game with sticky wilds.
You’ll get fewer overall spins here, but the potential is much higher.
As dependable as mans best friend, The Dog House Megaways promises to be everything you wanted and more from a Megaways version of this game. Players who loved the original will be very happy with this new version.
The Base Game doesn’t have tonnes going on, if anything at all. With the presence of only Wild Multipliers as a feature to keep you entertained, you may find that the game can get a little bit tedious.
That’s not to say that this isn’t fun, fans of the original will remember that the features in the base game were basically non-existent, but loved it anyway. The real excitement comes from the bonus rounds, of which 2 are available to choose from!
With a maximum win of 12,305x, the potential is definitely there, but the game is highly volatile, so despite its potential don’t always expect it to return those huge wins.
A great tribute to the original game overall, with Pragmatic Plays extensive expertise paired with Big Time Gaming’s genius Megaways mechanic, you can’t go wrong.
