Although The Dog House Multihold is a whole new ball game, Pragmatic Play has kept things pretty much the same in terms of design.

Loading up The Dog House Multihold, you wouldn’t think this was a brand new slot game for 2023, but there is more to it than meets the eye as you will soon see!

The Dog House Multihold Base Game and Features

The Dog House Multihold is a 5 reel slot with 20 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.06% and a max win cap of 9,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is the Dog with the Blue background, followed by the Dogs with Pink, Brown and Green backgrounds, Dog Collar and Bone. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten.

Wild Symbols

Wild symbols appear on reels 2, 3 and 4, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters.

During the base game, all Wilds that land in view will appear with a random Multiplier of x2 or x3. This Multiplier will be applied to all wins that the Wild symbol is a part of.

If more than 1 Wild symbol is used as part of the same win, all their Multipliers will be added together and applied.

The Dog House Multihold Free Spins

Landing 3 Paw Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 7 Free Spins and a payout of 2x your current bet.

Once active, 4 Reel Sets will appear, with only the top left one unlocked and in play. Landing 3 Scatters during this round will unlock the next Reel Set, in the following order: Top right, bottom left and bottom right. Scatter symbols will then only appear on the last unlocked reel set.

Each time a new reel set is unlocked, an additional +1, +2 or +3 Free Spins are awarded at random. Each reel set follows the same number of paylines as the other reel sets in play.

In addition to this, any Wild symbols that land on the last unlocked reel set will become Sticky, remaining in their positions for the duration of Free Spins. When a new reel set unlocks, it will start with Sticky Wilds from the previous reel set already in view.

If 2 reel sets are unlocked in the same spin, the number of additional Free Spins will be awarded twice, and all Wilds will be copied to both of the newly unlocked reel sets.

The Dog House Multihold: Our Verdict

The similarities between The Dog House Multihold and the previous titles is so great that if it wasn’t for the name above the reel set, you would think you’re playing the original.

When playing, it’s pretty evident that the only real changes made are to the Free Spins round, but are these changes a good or bad thing?

iSoftBet’s Ocean Hunter and Blueprint’s Gorilla Gold Megaways are just a couple of slots that feature the quad reel mechanic, but is it one that stands out? What’s nice is that Pragmatic Play has tried something new rather than stick to the same old.
